Michael James Norris (born 6 October 1954) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). It ... (VFL). After ten games across three seasons with South Melbourne, Norris moved to Melbourne in 1975 but did not play a senior game for them. Norris subsequently enjoyed a highly successful period with Mordialloc in the Victorian Football Association, scoring over 40 goals in each of his three seasons at the club and winning the VFA Division 2 premiership in 1977. Michael J. Norris (born April 12, 1976) is the Assembly member for the New York's 144th State Assembly district, 144th District of the New York State Assembly. He is a Republican Party (United States), Republican. The district includes portions of Erie County, New York, Erie, Niagara County, New York, Niagara and Orleans County, New York, Orleans counties in Western New York. Life and career Norris was born and raised in Lockport, New York and attended Lockport High School. He is a graduate of Niagara University and Albany Law School. Michael Kelvin Norris (born March 19, 1955) is a former Major League Baseball right-handed starting pitcher who played with the Oakland Athletics (–, ). Career He attended Balboa High School in San Francisco and was drafted by the Oakland A's in the first round (24th overall) In January 1973. He made his major league debut in 1975. Norris is best remembered for his spectacular season. He went 22-9 with 24 complete games and a 2.53 earned run average, while also earning the Gold Glove Award. However, he was not awarded the American League Cy Young Award; Steve Stone of the Baltimore Orioles, who had a record of 25-7, was given the honor. Norris also placed 15th in the MVP voting. Michael Norris (born 8 October 1979) is an English football manager who is currently the Technical Director of the Portland Thorns in the National Women's Soccer League. Playing career Norris played youth football as a goalkeeper for Cramlington Juniors, England Boys Club and York City. Coaching career Norris earned his FA Preliminary Licence (now known as the FA Coaching Level 2 Licence) in 1998, as well as his FA Goalkeeper Coaching Level 2 Licence in the same year. He earned his Canada Soccer Coaching B Diploma in 2014, followed by a Coaching A Diploma in 2019. After settling in Vancouver in 2006, his former goalkeeping coach Simon Smith also arrived in the area. Smith hired Norris to work at the new Simon Smith Goalkeeping Academy.
