Michael Morris D.F.A. (16 May 1942 - 18 November 2022) was a British-born Canadian visual artist, archivist, educator, and curator. Morris has also completed successful works in film, photography, video, installation, correspondence art, and performance. Career Morris was born in Saltdean, England on 16 May 1942. He came to Canada when he was four years old and grew up in Saanich, British Columbia. As a child, Morris was influenced by Herbert Siebner, who arrived in Victoria, BC from Berlin in 1953. Morris was also mentored by Maxwell Bates. Morris later studied at the University of Victoria and the Vancouver School of Art, where his teachers included Jack Shadbolt, Roy Kiyooka and Don Jarvis. After completing his graduate studies at the Slade School of Art, where one of his teachers was Harold Cohen, he returned to Vancouver, and became acting curator of the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Centre for Communications and the Arts at Simon Fraser University. He was an Executive Producer and Director of ABC television drama '' Brothers & Sisters'', working on that series throughout its five-season run (2006–2011). Michael Morris (born ''Misha Stuczko,'' later ''Misha Stutchkoff;'' January 7, 1918 – died June 20, 2003) was an American television and film screenwriter, radio performer, and actor. Life and career Born of parents of a Polish Jewish background, Michael is the son of late writer, actor and radio show performer Nahum Stutchkoff, who wrote the "Thesaurus of the Yiddish Language" and other works. Michael was born in Kharkiv, then Russian Empire and now Ukraine. He emigrated with his parents to the United States at the age of five, in 1923. He began his career acting with his father Nahum as a child and appearing on a WEVD radio show in New York City and in several Yiddish-speaking films. During World War II, he served in the United States Army, and then went back to New York City to write on the radio programs, ''Mr. And Mrs. North'' and ''The Hollywood Story''. Mick Richard Morris (March 9, 1978 – June 3, 2013) better known as MickDeth, was an American bassist and guitarist. He was a part of the bands Eighteen Visions, Clear, and the Misfits cover band Die Die My Darling. Biography He was raised in Utah, along with his three sisters and brother, by his grandparents. At an early age, he adopted the straight edge lifestyle, having grown up in an environment where drugs were very prominent in his life and family. With such things surrounding his world, Morris decided that he did not want a part of it, ever. Michael Morris, Baron Morris and 1st Baron Killanin, (14 November 1826 – 8 September 1901), known as Sir Michael Morris, Bt, from 1885 to 1889, was an Irish lawyer and judge. He was Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench for Ireland from 1887 to 1889 and sat in the House of Lords as a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary from 1889 to 1900. Background and education Born in Galway, eldest son of Martin Morris and Julia Blake, Morris was educated at Galway College and Trinity College Dublin, graduating BA in 1847. His father was a justice of the peace, and in 1841 became the first Roman Catholic to be High Sheriff of Galway Town, an office his son also held. Michael Morris, 3rd Baron Killanin, (30 July 1914 – 25 April 1999) was an Irish journalism, journalist, author, sports official, and the sixth President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). He succeeded Martin Henry FitzPatrick Morris, 2nd Baron Killanin, his uncle as Baron Killanin in the Peerage of the United Kingdom in 1927, when he was 12, which allowed him to sit in the House of Lords at the Palace of Westminster as Lord Killanin upon turning 21. Michael Wolfgang Laurence Morris, Baron Naseby, (born 25 November 1936) is a British Conservative Party politician. Early life Born in London and educated at Bedford School and St Catharine's College, Cambridge, Morris was taught to fly in Pakistan and Canada and served in the Royal Air Force. Parliamentary career Morris contested Islington North at the 1966 general election, being beaten by Labour's Gerry Reynolds. He was first elected to the House of Commons at the February 1974 general election for the then-marginal seat of Northampton South. His majority was just 179 in February 1974, and 141 in October 1974. In 1983 boundary changes turned it into a safe Conservative seat. Morris oversaw the passing of the Maastricht Treaty in the Commons in his role as Deputy Speaker. Michael Morris is an American biochemist, oceanographer and businessman, who has designed, developed and marketed new applications of optical sensing technology and spectroscopy. He has founded several companies including pHish Doctor (pH sensors for home aquariums), Ocean Optics Inc. (OOI) (miniature spectrometers), and SpectrEcology (engineering and support services for optical sensing applications). Morris is credited with developing the first miniature spectrometer. The miniature spectrometers introduced by Morris' Ocean Optics have wide applications in the food industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, aquaculture, the environment, medicine, dentistry, and forensics. Michael John Morris (20 January 1943 – 15 March 2020) was an English footballer who played as a forward. He spent time with Barking, Grays Athletic, West Ham United (without making a first-team appearance), and Faversham Town, before he joined Oxford United in 1964. He helped the club to win promotion out of the Fourth Division in 1964–65, before he moved on to Port Vale in July 1967. He helped the "Valiants" to also win promotion out of the Fourth Division in 1969–70, before he was moved on to Stafford Rangers in May 1972. After five years with Rangers he ended his career at Leek Town. Mick Morris (Gaelic Footballer)
Mick Morris (born 1943) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer and golfer. He played for his local club John Mitchels and was a member of the Kerry senior inter-county team from 1964 until 1969. He went on to represent Ireland in golf, winning the Irish Close Championship in 1978. Club Morris played with John Mitchels club during a golden era for the Tralee side. He was part of the side that won five Kerry Senior Football Championship titles in a row between 1959-63. He won another title in 1966.
