Mike McCarville
Mike Jeffrey McCarville is a Canadian curler from Thunder Bay, Ontario. He currently plays third on Team Trevor Bonot. Career McCarville played lead for Team Northern Ontario, skipped by Joe Scharf, at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 1999 and 2000, finishing with a 7–5 record and missing playoffs both times. In 2014, he won the Northern Ontario Men's Provincials as the third for Jeff Currie, qualifying for the 2014 Tim Hortons Brier. There, the team finished with a 2–9 record. On the World Curling Tour, McCarville has won the 2013 Bernick's Miller Lite Open. McCarville has represented Northern Ontario in three Canadian Mixed Curling Championships, playing second each time. The Fort William Curling Club is a curling club located in the Downtown Fort William, Ontario, Downtown Fort William neighbourhood of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Canadian Mixed Curling Championships
The Canadian Mixed Curling Championship is the national curling championship for mixed curling in Canada. The winners of the tournament will represent Canada at the World Mixed Curling Championship. In mixed curling, the positions on a team must alternate between men and women. If a man throws last rocks, which is usually the case, the women must throw lead rocks and third rocks, while the other male member of the team throws second rocks. In 2004, Shannon Kleibrink became the only woman to skip a team and win a Canadian Mixed championship. History The Canadian Mixed Curling Championship was established in 1964, with Canadian Breweries as the event's sponsor and Frank Sargent as its committee chairman. The World Curling Tour (WCT) is a group of curling bonspiels featuring the best male, female, and mixed doubles curlers in the world. History The World Curling Tour was founded by former World Champion Ed Lukowich, with later assistance from John Kawaja. The World Curling Tour commenced in 1992, with men's events only at first. It replaced the "Canadian Curling Tour" held the previous season. The first season consisted of 48 events (with only one outside Canada), and was sponsored by Seagram's distillery. Teams earned points in every event with the top 30 qualifying for the season ending " V.O. Cup", today known as the Players' Championship. Its first president and CEO was Lukowich. 2014 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2014 Tim Hortons Brier was held from March 1 to 9 at the Interior Savings Centre in Kamloops, British Columbia. Unlike previous years, the winner of the 2014 Brier automatically qualified for the 2015 Brier as Team Canada, similarly to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Jeff Currie
Jeff Currie (born c. 1976) is a Canadian curler from Thunder Bay, Ontario. He is a former Canadian Junior champion. He currently curls for the Eveleth, Minnesota-based Joe Polo rink on the World Curling Tour. During his junior career, Currie won just one Northern Ontario provincial junior title, in 1996 defeating Dusty Jakomait in the provincial junior final. Currie made his lone provincial junior title count at the 1996 Canadian Junior Curling Championships representing Northern Ontario. Currie skipped a rink which consisted of Greg Given, Andrew Mikkelsen and Tyler Oinonen. The team finished the round robin of the event in 2nd place, with an 8-4 record. The 2014 Travelers Men's NOCA Provincials, the provincial men's curling championship for Northern Ontario, were held from February 5 to 10 at the McIntyre Curling Club in Schumacher, Ontario, Schumacher, Ontario.
