Mike Kelley (politician)
Mike Kelley (born March 27, 1975) is an American politician who served as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives for the 127th district from 2011 to 2019. He was replaced by his wife, Ann Kelley, on January 3, 2019, due to term limits. As member of the Republican Party, Mike Kelley was elected into the position in 2011, and left office in 2019 after 8 years in the position due to Missouri term limits. Early life A native of Lamar, Missouri, Kelley attended Lamar High School. Career Kelley became a general manager at a McDonald's in Lamar in 1995 and held that position until he took office. He then went to work as Chief of Staff to Missouri State Senator Bill White and was appointed by Governor Eric Greitens to serve as one of the commissioners of Missouri Commission for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing. Ann Kelley is an American politician and educator serving as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from the 127th district. Elected in November 2018, she assumed office in January 2019. Early life and education Kelley was born in Joplin, Missouri and attended Liberal High School in Liberal, Missouri. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in middle school science and English from Missouri Southern State University and a Master of Science in curriculum and middle school reading and writing from Grand Canyon University. Career Kelley began her career as an English teacher in the Lamar School District. Kelley is a member of the National Rifle Association of America, Missouri Farm Bureau, and the Missouri State Teachers Association. Lamar is a city in and the county seat of Barton County, Missouri, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 4,266. It is known as the birthplace of Harry S. Truman, the 33rd president of the United States. The city government is consolidated with City Township. The city of Lamar is surrounded by, but is not part of, Lamar Township. The Missouri House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 163 members, representing districts with an average size of 37,000 residents. House members are elected for two-year terms during general elections held in even-numbered years. Eric Robert Greitens (; born April 10, 1974) is a former American politician who was the 56th governor of Missouri from January 2017 until his resignation in June 2018 amid allegations of sexual assault and campaign finance impropriety. Born and raised in St. Louis, Greitens graduated from Duke University in 1996 and received a doctorate from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, as a Rhodes scholar in 2000.
