Mike Guerrero
Miguel Alberto "Mike" Guerrero (born January 8, 1968) is a former Major League Baseball coach (2014–15) with the Milwaukee Brewers and a former minor league player in the Brewers and Kansas City Royals farm systems from 1987 to 1995. Since he has been the manager of the Biloxi Shuckers, the Brewers' Double-A farm system affiliate. He also managed teams in the Brewers organization from 2004 to 2013. Playing career Guerrero played his first professional season in 1987 for the Rookie league Helena Brewers. In 1988, he played for Helena, the Rookie league Arizona League Brewers, and the Class A Beloit Snappers. He played for Arizona and Beloit again in 1989, as well as for the Class A-Advanced Stockton Ports. Guerrero spent the entire 1990 season with Stockton. He split the 1991 between Stockton and the Double-A El Paso Diablos. He stayed with the Diablos for all of the 1992 season. Biloxi Shuckers
The Biloxi Shuckers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Southern League and the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. They are located in Biloxi, Mississippi, and are named in reference to the city's oyster industry and seafood heritage. The Shuckers play their home games at MGM Park. The team began play in 2015 after the Southern League's Huntsville Stars relocated to Biloxi following the 2014 season. With Major League Baseball's restructuring of Minor League Baseball in 2021, the Shuckers were placed in the Double-A South, which became the Southern League in 2022. Biloxi has played in three Southern League championship series but has not won a league title. Stockton Ports
The Stockton Ports are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. They are located in Stockton, California, and are named for the city's seaport. The team plays its home games at Banner Island Ballpark which opened in 2005 and seats over 5,000 people. The Dominican Summer League Brewers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Dominican Summer League (DSL) and a Rookie affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. They are located in Ramón Santana, San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, and play their home games at the Tower Complex. The Milwaukee Brewers began fielding teams in the Dominican Summer League in 1989, though several teams were operated as co-ops in partnership with other Major League Baseball clubs. The Dominican Summer Blue Jays are a baseball team in the Dominican Summer League. The DSL is a rookie level circuit, and therefore the team is a rookie affiliate. The team plays in the San Pedro de Macorís division. Facilities The team plays at Boca Chica Baseball City Complex along with Dominican Summer League Diamondbacks, Dominican Summer League Orioles, Dominican Summer League White Sox and Dominican Summer League Reds. Dominican Summer League
The Dominican Summer League (DSL) is a branch of affiliated Minor League Baseball which is played in the Dominican Republic. The league was founded in 1985. After the demise of the Venezuelan Summer League after the 2015 season, it is the only Latin America-based rookie league. Teams in the DSL are owned and operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) franchises. The league's season typically begins in June, with each team playing a 72-game schedule, and ends in late August. The division winners advance to the playoffs. The two division champions with the best winning percentages receive byes to the semifinals. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3. Also called first sacker or cornerman, the first baseman is ideally a tall player who throws left-handed and possesses good flexibility and quick reflexes. A third baseman, abbreviated 3B, is the player in baseball or softball whose responsibility is to defend the area nearest to third base — the third of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. Shortstop
Shortstop, abbreviated SS, is the baseball or softball fielding position between second and third base, which is considered to be among the most demanding defensive positions. Historically the position was assigned to defensive specialists who were typically poor at batting and were often placed at the bottom of the batting order. Today, shortstops are often able to hit well and many are placed at the top of the lineup. In the numbering system used by scorers to record defensive plays, the shortstop is assigned the number 6.
