Mike Feschuk
Michael Feschuk (January 6, 1932 – November 12, 2007) was a farmer, real estate agent, civil servant and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Prince Albert East from 1971 to 1975 and Prince Albert from 1975 to 1982 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a New Democratic Party (NDP) member. He was born in Meath Park, Saskatchewan and was educated there. He later took over the operation of the family farm. In 1953, he married Helen Mychaluk. Feschuk worked as a real estate agent during the 1980s and later worked for Statistics Canada Statistics Canada (StatCan; french: Statistique Canada), formed in 1971, is the agency of the Government of Canada commissioned with producing statistics to help better understand Canada, its population, resources, economy, society, and cultur .... Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. The Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP) is a social-democratic political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It currently forms the official opposition, but has been a dominant force in Saskatchewan politics since the 1940s. The party is the successor to the Saskatchewan section of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF), and is affiliated with the federal New Democratic Party. History Precursors The origins of the party began as early as 1902. In that year a group of farmers created the Territorial Grain Growers' Association. The objective of this group was to lobby for farmer's rights with the grain trade and the railways. John Paul Meagher
John Paul Meagher (April 4, 1939 – May 28, 2019) was a developer and political figure in Saskatchewan, Canada. He represented Prince Albert from 1982 to 1986 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Progressive Conservative. He was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the son of John Paul Meagher. In 1964, Meagher married Barbara Florence Valantine. Before entering politics, he was a plumbing and heating contractor. Meagher was criticized for his involvement in a resort complex at Redberry Lake while serving as legislative secretary to the Minister for Parks and Renewable Resources, but was later cleared of violating rules for conflict of interest.
