Mike Daly (Canadian Football)
Michael Daly (born May 30, 1990) is a former professional Canadian football defensive back and is currently the special teams assistant coach for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks of U Sports football. He spent nine years with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). University career Daly played CIS football for the McMaster Marauders from 2009 to 2013. He played in 38 games over those five years and recorded 83 solo tackles, 24 assisted tackles, 10 interceptions, and one quarterback sack. He was part of the Marauders' 2011 and 2012 Yates Cup conference champion teams. Daly has also won a Vanier Cup national championship with the Marauders – the first in program history – where he recorded one interception and an assisted tackle in the 47th Vanier Cup game. McMaster Marauders Football
The McMaster Marauders football team represents McMaster University based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The team plays U Sports football in the Ontario University Athletics conference. The McMaster Marauders, Marauders have been playing organized Canadian football, football since 1901 when they played their first exhibition game in the Canadian Intercollegiate Rugby Football Union. The Vanier Cup (french: Coupe Vanier) is the championship of Canadian university football. It is organized by U Sports football and is currently played between the winners of the Uteck Bowl and the Mitchell Bowl. It is named after Georges Vanier, the former governor general of Canada and was first awarded in 1965 to the winner of an invitational event contested between two teams that were selected by a panel. In 1967, the trophy was declared the official "CIAU National Football Championship" and a playoff system was instituted. From its creation until 1982, it was known as the Canadian College Bowl. The 2016 Hamilton Tiger-Cats season was the 59th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 67th overall. The Tiger-Cats finished in 2nd place in the East Division and finished with a 7–11 record. The Tiger-Cats qualified for the playoffs for the fourth straight season, including their fourth straight season hosting a playoff game, but lost in the East Semi-Final to the Edmonton Eskimos 24–21. The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The 2015 Hamilton Tiger-Cats season was the 58th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 66th overall.
