Mikage, Hokkaido
is a former village that was located in the Kasai District of Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan. The village was formed in 1921 when it separated from the village of Memuro. Granite () is a coarse-grained (phaneritic) intrusive igneous rock composed mostly of quartz, alkali feldspar, and plagioclase. It forms from magma with a high content of silica and alkali metal oxides that slowly cools and solidifies underground. It is common in the continental crust of Earth, where it is found in igneous intrusions. The name was a transliteration from the Ainu language Ainu (, ), or more precisely Hokkaido Ainu, is a language spoken by a few elderly members of the Ainu people on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido.
