Miguel Pedro (basketball)
Miguel António Teixeira Ferreira Pedro (born 6 November 1983) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for F.C. Maia Lidador as an attacking midfielder. Club career Born in Porto, Miguel Pedro began his professional career in the second division, playing two seasons each with S.C. Salgueiros and C.D. Aves, both in the north. In the summer of 2006 he moved to the Primeira Liga with Académica de Coimbra, making his competition debut on 28 August in a 1–1 away draw against Vitória F.C. and finishing his debut campaign with 26 games and two goals, as the ''Students'' maintained their division status. In the following years, Miguel Pedro continued to be regularly played at Académica, although rarely as a starter. Also brought from the bench, he scored against FC Porto on 25 October 2009, but in a 2–3 away defeat; the following month he was sold to Anorthosis Famagusta FC in Cyprus, for three-and-a-half years and a €100,000 transfer fee. The Taça da Liga (), known outside Portugal as Portuguese League Cup, is an annual football club competition organised by the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional (LPFP) for teams competing in the Primeira Liga and LigaPro, the top two tiers of Portuguese football. Taça De Portugal
The Taça de Portugal (; "Cup of Portugal") is an annual association football competition and the premier knockout tournament in Portuguese football. For sponsorship reasons, it has been known as Taça de Portugal Placard since the 2015–16 season. Organised by the Portuguese Football Federation since it was first held in 1938, the competition is open to professional and amateur clubs from the top-four league divisions. Matches are played from August–September to May–June, and the final is traditionally held at the Estádio Nacional in Oeiras, near Lisbon. Cypriot First Division
The Cypriot First Division ( el, Πρωτάθλημα Α΄ Κατηγορίας) is the top tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Since February 2016, it is sponsored by Cyta and is thus officially known as the Cyta Championship. The league is contested by 14 teams and runs from August to May, with the three lowest-placed teams being relegated to the Cypriot Second Division, and replaced by the top three teams in that division. History Football was introduced to Cyprus early in the 20th century by the British. Initially played in the island's schools, it proved hugely popular and a number of clubs were duly formed.
