Migrate (song)
"Migrate" is a song by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey from her eleventh studio album, '' E=MC²'' (2008). It was written and produced by Carey and Danja, with additional songwriting from The Clutch and the track's featured artist, T-Pain. An up-tempo hip hop club track, it is about Carey's movement on a girls' night out, ranging from the club, the bar, the VIP lounge, the after party and the hotel. Critical response was mixed, with many critics disapproving of Carey's decision to use Auto-Tune on her vocals. "Migrate" peaked at number ninety-two on the United States' ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, ninety-five on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and sixty-nine on the Pop 100 chart. Carey and T-Pain performed the song on ''Saturday Night Live''. Animal Migration
Animal migration is the relatively long-distance movement of individual animals, usually on a seasonal basis. It is the most common form of migration in ecology. It is found in all major animal groups, including birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and crustaceans. The cause of migration may be local climate, local availability of food, the season of the year or for mating. To be counted as a true migration, and not just a local dispersal or irruption, the movement of the animals should be an annual or seasonal occurrence, or a major habitat change as part of their life. An annual event could include Northern Hemisphere birds migrating south for the winter, or wildebeest migrating annually for seasonal grazing. A major habitat change could include young Atlantic salmon or sea lamprey leaving the river of their birth when they have reached a few inches in size. Some traditional forms of human migration fit this pattern. Migrations can be studied using traditi ...

Bird Migration
Bird migration is the regular seasonal movement, often north and south along a flyway, between breeding and wintering grounds. Many species of bird migrate. Migration carries high costs in predation and mortality, including from hunting by humans, and is driven primarily by the availability of food. It occurs mainly in the northern hemisphere, where birds are funneled onto specific routes by natural barriers such as the Mediterranean Sea or the Caribbean Sea. Migration of species such as storks, turtle doves, and swallows was recorded as many as 3,000 years ago by Ancient Greek authors, including Homer and Aristotle, and in the Book of Job. More recently, Johannes Leche began recording dates of arrivals of spring migrants in Finland in 1749, and modern scientific studies have used techniques including bird ringing and satellite tracking to trace migrants. Threats to migratory birds have grown with habitat destruction, especially of stopover and wintering sites, as wel ...

PC Migration
PC migration is the process of transferring the entire user environment (e.g. personal documents and settings) between two computer systems. The migration problem is often associated with the concept of total cost of ownership where the requirement to migrate information is considered a "cost" in purchasing a new PC, similar considerations exist for businesses upgrading hardware/software. PC migration is required whenever one needs to move to a new computer (i.e. purchasing new hardware), or upgrade to a new OS. Because of intrinsic differences and strong OS-hardware coupling, PC migration is considered to be a problem for both consumers and enterprises. Some PC migration software products are capable of transferring not just settings and data, but also applications. Sources for software that automates PC migration software include Laplink, Tranxition, and Swimage. Windows 10 does not any longer include a Windows transfer utility with the OS. Human Migration
Human migration is the movement of people from one place to another with intentions of settling, permanently or temporarily, at a new location (geographic region). The movement often occurs over long distances and from one country to another (external migration), but internal migration (within a single country) is also possible; indeed, this is the dominant form of human migration globally. Migration is often associated with better human capital at both individual and household level, and with better access to migration networks, facilitating a possible second move. It has a high potential to improve human development, and some studies confirm that migration is the most direct route out of poverty.Age is also important for both work and non-work migration. People may migrate as individuals, in family units or in large groups. There are four major forms of migration: invasion, conquest, colonization and emigration/immigration. Persons moving from their home due to forced displa ...

Migration (virtualization)
In the context of virtualization, where a ''guest'' simulation of an entire computer is actually merely a software virtual machine (VM) running on a ''host'' computer under a hypervisor, migration (also known as teleportation) is the process by which a ''running'' virtual machine is moved from one physical host to another, with little or no disruption in service. Subjective effects Ideally, the process is completely transparent, resulting in no disruption of service (or downtime). In practice, there is always some minor pause in availability, though it may be low enough that only hard real-time systems are affected. Virtualization is far more frequently used with network services and user applications, and these can generally tolerate the brief delays which may be involved. The perceived impact, if any, is similar to a longer-than-usual kernel delay. Objective effects The actual process is heavily dependent on the particular virtualization package in use, but in general, the pr ...

Migration (Bonobo Album)
''Migration'' is the sixth studio album by British DJ and record producer Simon Green, performing under the name Bonobo. It was released on 13 January 2017. Background ''Migration'' was primarily written and recorded while Green was still on tour for his previous album, '' The North Borders''. After the completion of the tour, Green completed a move from New York City to the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The move, as well as the travelling for the tour and the deaths of some family members, led Green to contemplate on themes of identity, migration, and the environment. Because the tour for ''The North Borders'' consisted of approximately 175 shows across three continents for about eighteen months, the music for ''Migration'' was mainly created on a laptop as opposed to the studio environments of Green's previous albums. Artwork Neil Krug served as the art director for the album. Green had tasked Krug to create artwork that was "beautifully sinister". Krug and Green ...

It credits the band as "The American Amboy Dukes", the name under which the group's records were released in Britain. This CD features an edited version of 'Prodigal Man' (bass and organ solo removed - 5:48) and not the full version from the original LP. (In fact, the full version has yet to see a CD release.) System Migration
System migration involves moving a set of instructions or programs, e.g., PLC (programmable logic controller) programs, from one platform to another, minimizing reengineering. Migration of systems can also involve downtime, while the old system is replaced with a new one. Migration can be from a mainframe computer which has a closed architecture, to an open system which employ x86 servers. As well, migration can be from an open system to a Cloud Computing platform. The motivation for this can be the cost savings. Migration can be simplified by tools that can automatically convert data from one form to another. There are also tools to convert the code from one platform to another to be either compiled or interpreted. Vendors of such tools include Micro Focus and Metamining.Wook-hee Lee"국내 언어변환 솔루션 프로그램 선두기업: 메타마이닝 (Metamining, South Korea's Leading Language Conversion Enterprise)"''Money Today'' July 4, 2011.
