Midnattsolscupen
Midnattsolscupen (Midnight Sun Cup) is a football tournament which is played annually in July in the Tornedalen (Norrbotten County) in northern Sweden. Background The Midnattsolscupen tournament is organised by the Polcirkeln/Svanstein FF, Ohtana/Aapua FF and Korpilombolo GIF clubs. Games are played in the villages of Svanstein and Aapua in Övertorneå, and in Ohtanajärvi in Pajala. Most of the matches are played during the late evening and as the name suggests - midnight, taking full advantage of the light nights in Tornedalen. The Final match is played in Svanstein and usually attracts large crowds. The rules state that the competing clubs are mostly from northern Sweden, Finland and Norway. However Russian teams FC Spartak Moscow, Spartak Moscow and Stolitsa Moskva have also taken part in the tournament. In addition to men's team tournament, there is also a competition for boys teams. Ohtana/Aapua FF
Ohtana/Aapua FF is a Sweden, Swedish association Football, football club located in Ohtanajärvi in Pajala Municipality and Aapua in Övertorneå Municipality, Norrbotten County. Background Ohtanajärvi/Aapua Fotbollsförening were formed in 1998 following the merger of the Ohtanajärvi IK and Aapua IF clubs. Ohtanajärvi IK was established on 20 June 1950 at a meeting in the school in Ohtanajärvi Since their foundation Ohtana/Aapua FF has participated in the middle and lower divisions of the Swedish football league system. Kiruna FF
Kiruna FF is a Swedish football club located in Kiruna. The men's team competes in Division 2 Norra Norrland, in the fourth level of the Swedish football league system. The women's team competes in div 3, in the fifth level. FC Santa Claus
FC Santa Claus is a football club from Rovaniemi, Finland that currently plays in the Nelonen (football), Nelonen, the fifth tier of the Finnish football league system. The club has played as high as the third tier Kakkonen, where they have played a total of 14 seasons. They were nearly promoted to the second-tier Ykkönen but lost their promotion playoff match to HIFK Fotboll, HIFK in 2010. The club plays at the Saarenkylän Stadion. Assi IF is a Swedish football team, located in Risögrund, Kalix Municipality, Norrbotten County, currently playing in Division 2 Norrland. Background Assi IF is a club that dates back to 1915. The current club was established in 1968 when Karlsborgs IK and Risöns AIS merged under the influence of the AB Statens Skogsindustrier. IFK Kalix is a Swedish football club located in Kalix in Norrbotten County. Background IFK Kalix currently plays in Division 3 Norra Norrland which is the fifth tier of Swedish football.
