Midco (known as Midcontinent Communications until 2016) is a regional cable provider, providing a triple play service of Cable television, Internet and telephone service for both North Dakota and South Dakota, along with much of Minnesota, and several communities in Kansas and Wisconsin. Cable Telephony
Cable telephony is a form of digital telephony over cable TV networks. A telephone interface installed at the customer's premises converts analog signals from the customer's in-home wiring to a digital signal, which is then sent over the cable connection to the company's switching center. The signal is then sent on to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). Cable telephone provides another revenue stream for cable television system operators and gives the consumer the convenience of a single bill for combined television, internet and telephone services. Tele-Communications, Inc. (TCI) was a cable television provider in the United States, and for most of its history was controlled by Bob Magness and John Malone. The company was started in 1958 in Bozeman, Montana as Western Microwave, Inc. and Community Television, Inc., two firms with common ownership. AT&T Broadband
AT&T Broadband was AT&T's cable operations division. It was formed in 1999 when AT&T acquired the assets of TCI and renamed it to AT&T Broadband. The next year, AT&T Broadband acquired MediaOne as well and became the largest cable operations company in the United States. In 2001, AT&T swapped the cable systems to Cable One in the San Joaquin Valley region of California, eastern Oregon, northern Utah, and southern Idaho. The Upper Midwest is a region in the northern portion of the U.S. Census Bureau's Midwestern United States. It is largely a sub-region of the Midwest. KELO-FM (101.9 FM) is a radio station in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, airing an adult contemporary music format. At 92.5 FM, KELO-FM was one of the first FM radio stations in South Dakota. It broadcasts from KELO-TV's 2000 foot tower. The station is owned by Duey E. Wright, through licensee Midwest Communications, Inc.
