Mick Leahy (footballer)
Michael Leahy (born 30 April 1989) is an Irish former professional footballer who played for League of Ireland clubs UCD, Limerick, Sligo Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic. After retiring, he began to work with FIFPRO. Career UCD Leahy started playing football with Belvedere before signing for his local League of Ireland side UCD in 2007, where he played in their underage sides for 2 years. He made his debut in senior football as a 19-year-old, on 6 March 2009 on the opening day of the 2009 League of Ireland First Division season, a 2–1 win over Limerick. He went on to make 7 more appearances for the first team that season as they went on to win the league, gaining promotion to the League of Ireland Premier Division. James Doona
James Doona (born 15 January 1998) is an Irish professional footballer, currently playing for NIFL Premiership side Glenavon. Club career Youth career Raised in School Street in The Liberties, Doona started playing football with Lourdes Celtic. His form there earned him moves to two of the country's top schoolboy clubs, Crumlin United and then Stella Maris. Doona's took his first step towards League of Ireland football by signing for Inchicore club St Patrick's Athletic's youth setup. In August 2015 Doona signed for Shamrock Rovers Under 19's squad, where he played for the 2015 short season and the also 2016 season with them. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. The rules of overtime or extra time vary between sports and even different competitions. Some may employ " sudden death", where the first player or team who scores immediately wins the game. In others, play continues until a specified time has elapsed, and only then is the winner declared. A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). Dundalk ( ; ga, Dún Dealgan ), meaning "the fort of Dealgan", is the county town (the administrative centre) of County Louth, Ireland. The League of Ireland Cup ( ga, Corn Sraithe na hÉireann), also referred to in Ireland as the 'League Cup', is an annual knockout competition in men's football in the Republic of Ireland. It is contested by League of Ireland clubs and invited clubs from the lower levels of the Republic of Ireland football league system. It has been sponsored by Electronic Arts and branded the EA Sports Cup since 2009. The competition began in 1973–74, replacing the League of Ireland Shield and the Dublin City Cup. It has had several formats since its inception and has been a knock-out competition since 2005. Dave Robertson (born 19 November 1973) is a football manager and coach who was most recently the manager of League of Ireland Premier Division side Sligo Rovers until April 2017. Before this he was manager of Peterborough United. Early life and military career Robertson was born in Dagenham, London. He grew up as a West Ham United supporter, and aged six, was a mascot at a match against Preston North End, walking alongside Trevor Brooking. As a young boy, he played as a winger for Dagenham United, as well as the Barking & Dagenham District and Essex County teams.
