Michèle Dittlot
Michèle Dittlot (born 4 March 1949, Guelma, Algiers) is a Monegasque politician. She is a member of National Council of Monaco and vice-president of the Committee for the Culture and Heritage. She is a Knight of the Order of Saint-Charles, Knight of the Order of Cultural Merit, Officer of the Order of Academic Palms and Officer of the Order of La Pléiade. Life and career Michèle Dittlot was born on 4 March 1949 in Guelma, Algiers. She has a certificate of aptitude for secondary education teaching in Biology and Geology and a Master of Physiology. Dittlot taught Science at school. Since 1997 she is a member of UNAM (National Union for the Future of Monaco/Union Nationale pour l'Avenir de Monaco) political group. From 2003 to 2008 and then from 2008 to 2013 Dittlot was a member of National Council of Monaco and the President of the Culture and Heritage Commission at the National Council during both terms of office. National Council (Monaco)
The National Council (french: Conseil national) is the parliament (legislative body) of the Principality of Monaco. The body is composed of twenty-four members, who are elected from lists by universal suffrage. Councillors serve for five-year terms, and though it may act independently of the Prince, he may dissolve it at any time, provided that new elections be held within three months. The Council meets at least twice per year to vote on the country's budget and bills proposed by the prince's government. Ordinances (executive orders) are debated in the Council of Government, and once approved, must be submitted to the Sovereign Prince within eighty days for his signature, which makes them legally enforceable. If he does not express opposition within ten days of submission, they become valid. The current President of the National Council is Brigitte Boccone-Pagès. Guelma
Guelma ( ar, قالمة ''Qālima''; arq, ڨالمة; Algerian pronunciation: ) is the capital of Guelma Province and Guelma District, located in north-eastern Algeria, about 65 kilometers from the Mediterranean coast. Its location corresponds to that of ancient Calama. History Antiquity Though Guelma was settled from early prehistory, it was first established as a town under the Phoenicians, who called it ''Malaca'', probably a Phoenician word meaning "salt" (sharing a common etymology with ''Málaga'' in Spain). The Order of Saint Charles (french: Ordre de Saint Charles) is a dynastic order of knighthood established in Monaco on 15 March 1858. Award This order rewards service to the State or Prince. In particular cases, it may be granted to foreigners. It is awarded by the current Sovereign, Prince Albert II. Order Of Cultural Merit (Monaco)
The Order of Cultural Merit (french: Ordre du Mérite culturel) is the fourth highest Order of the Principality of Monaco. The order was established by Rainier III, Prince of Monaco on 31 December 1952 by Sovereign Order 689. It is awarded to recognize those who have made a distinctive contribution to the arts, letters or science through their work or teaching in Monaco. It may also be awarded to recognize individuals in those areas who have extended the intellectual influence of the Principality, even from outside Monaco. Insignia The order is presented in three different grades: Commander, Officer, and Knight. Each grade's insignia share certain characteristics. The National Union for the Future of Monaco (''Union nationale pour l'Avenir de Monaco'') was a centrist political party in Monaco. It ran as a part of the Union Monégasque list. In 2013, National Union for the future of Monaco and Union of Monegasques formed a political group Union Monégasque. In the 2013 legislative elections, as a member of the Union Monégasque, the alliance won 38.99% of the popular vote and 3 out of 24 seats.
