Michigan's 11th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Veronica Klinefelt since 2023, succeeding fellow Democrat Jeremy Moss. Geography District 11 encompasses parts of Macomb and Wayne counties. 2011 Apportionment Plan District 11, as dictated by the 2011 Apportionment Plan, covered the inner suburbs of Detroit in Oakland County, including Southfield, Farmington Hills, Oak Park, Ferndale, Madison Heights, Farmington, Lathrup Village, Huntington Woods, Hazel Park, Pleasant Ridge, and Royal Oak Township. Veronica Klinefelt
Veronica Klinefelt is an American politician who is the state senator representing Michigan's 11th Senate district, following the 2022 Michigan Senate election. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Political career Klinefelt began her political career as a member of the East Detroit School Board, serving for six years. She was then the mayor pro tem of Eastpointe for six years. She served on the Macomb County Board of Commissioners for ten years, representing Eastpointe. Huntington Woods is a city in Oakland County, Michigan in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a northern suburb of Metro Detroit. The population was 6,238 at the 2010 census. Huntington Woods is situated along the Woodward Corridor ( M-1) and is bounded by Ten and Eleven Mile Roads to the north and south and by Woodward and Coolidge Highway to the east and west. 2014 Michigan Senate Election
Elections for the Michigan Senate was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, with partisan primary elections to select the party's nominees held on August 5. All 38 seats in the Michigan Senate were contested, and those elected will serve in the 98th and 99th Michigan Legislatures. This was the first election for the Michigan Senate contested under the constituency boundaries drawn in consequence of the 2010 U.S. Census. The election resulted in the Republicans expanding their majority to 27 seats over the Democrats 11 seats. The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. Michigan's 11th Congressional District
Michigan's 11th congressional district is a United States congressional district northwest of Detroit, comprising portions of northwestern Wayne and southwestern Oakland counties. Until 1993, the district covered the state's Upper Peninsula and the northernmost portion of the Lower Peninsula (a.k.a. Northern Michigan). In redistricting that year, it was shifted to the outer Detroit area. Its former geographical area is now the state's first district. Its current configuration dates from 2003. Population growth in the Detroit suburbs resulted in redistricting to create a new district in that region, even as Michigan lost a district overall after the census. The 11th district was represented by Thad McCotter from 2003 until his resignation on July 6, 2012. He was replaced by Democrat David Curson, who won a special election on November 6, 2012. Michigan's 9th congressional district is a United States congressional district located in parts of Oakland County and Macomb County in the southeast areas of the State of Michigan. Michigan's 14th Congressional District
Michigan's 14th congressional district was a congressional district that stretched from eastern Detroit westward to Farmington Hills, then north to the suburb of Pontiac. From 1993 to 2013, it was based entirely in Wayne County. It was last represented by Brenda Lawrence. According to Michigan's law on redistricting, the highest numbered district must be in the southeast corner of the state. However, despite being the highest numbered district, the 14th district was not in the southeast corner of the state; the 7th district was. After the 2020 U.S. census, Michigan's 14th district was removed in the 2020 United States redistricting cycle.
