Micheline Daigle
Micheline Daigle is a former politician in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She served on the Montreal city council from 1986 to 1994 as a member of the Montreal Citizens' Movement (MCM). Daigle was administrator of the Rene Goupil community education centre and led a citizens' lobby group called ''Regroupe-Action'' in Montreal's Saint-Michel neighbourhood in the mid-1980s. She was first elected to council in the 1986 municipal election, centering her campaign around local opposition to the Miron Quarry urban landfill site. The MCM won a landslide majority in this election, and Daigle served as a backbench supporter of Jean Doré's administration. The Montreal City Council (french: Conseil municipal de Montréal) is the governing body in the mayor–council government in the city of Montreal, Quebec. The head of the city government in Montreal is the mayor, who is first among equals in the city council. The Montreal Citizens' Movement (MCM, french: Rassemblement des citoyens et des citoyennes de Montréal or RCM) was a municipal political party in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It existed from 1973 to 2001. Saint-Michel is a neighbourhood in the Montreal borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension. It is named for a colonial-era road in the neighbourhood. Jean Doré
Jean Doré (12 December 1944 – 15 June 2015) was a Canadian politician and mayor of the City of Montreal, Quebec. Background Doré studied law at the Université de Montréal, where he was president of the student union from 1967 to 1968. He received a Master's Degree of Political Science from McGill University. In the early seventies Doré became a founding member of the progressive '' Montreal Citizens' Movement (MCM)'', also known as ''Rassemblement des citoyens et citoyennes de Montréal'' (RCM) in French, where he started as treasurer and eventually became party leader in 1982. From 1972 to 1975, Doré was director of the ''Fédération des associations d'économie familiale''. He hosted a consumer affairs show on the Radio-Québec public television network. The 1990 Montreal municipal election took place on November 4, 1990, to elect a mayor and city councillors in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Jean Doré was elected to a second term as mayor by a significant margin. All mayoral candidates were also permitted to run for seats on council in tandem with "co-listed candidates."
