Michele Frangilli
Michele Frangilli (born 1 May 1976) is an Italian archer. Biography He was born in Gallarate. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in men's individual archery, finishing in 6th place and winning the bronze medal in the team event. He also competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in men's individual archery, finishing in 10th place and winning the silver medal in the team event. In 2003 he has won the World Target Archery Championships for Recurve (Olympic) Division in New York. Gallarate
Gallarate (; Lombard: ''Galaraa'') is a city and ''comune'' of Alto Milanese of Lombardy and of Milan metropolitan area, northern Italy, in the Province of Varese. Archery At The 2004 Summer Olympics – Men's Individual
The men's individual archery event at the 2004 Summer Olympics was part of the archery programme. Its final was held on 19 August at the Panathinaiko Stadium. Ranking round The Korean archers, medal favorites in both men's and women's competition, ranked 1st (Im Dong-hyun), 4th ( Park Kyung-mo), and 5th ( Jang Yong-ho) in the men's individual ranking round. Im's score of 687 set a new world record for 72 arrows, breaking the previous one set in 1995 by fellow Korean Shim Young-sung. It is not recognized by the International Olympic Committee as an Olympic record, however, as the ranking round took place on 12 August, before the 2004 opening ceremony. The round was held at Dekelia Air Force Base. The bracket setup (with 4th- and 5th-ranked archers facing off in the quarterfinals if undefeated and the winner of that match facing the 1st-ranked archer in the semifinals) meant that the Korean men could do no better than gold and bronze. All archery was done at a range of 70 metres. 64 archers competed. The competition format was unchanged from 1996. The competition began with a 72-arrow ranking round. This was followed by three elimination rounds, in which archers competed head-to-head in 18-arrow matches. After these rounds, there were 8 archers left. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and medal matches (collectively termed the "finals round") were 12-arrow matches. In all matches, losers were eliminated and received a final rank determined by their score in that round, with the exception of the semifinals. Archery At The 2013 Mediterranean Games
The archery competitions at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin took place between 22 June and 24 June at the Macit Özcan Sports Complex. 2013 Mediterranean Games
The 2013 Mediterranean Games ( tr, 2013 Akdeniz Oyunları), officially known as the XVII Mediterranean Games ( tr, XVII Akdeniz Oyunları) and commonly known as Mersin 2013, was an international multi-sport event held from 20 to 30 June 2013 in Mersin, Turkey. Mersin was announced as the host city at the General Assembly of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM) on 23 February 2011. The Mediterranean Games is a multi-sport event organised by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM). It is held every four years among athletes from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea in Africa, Asia and Europe.
