Michel Auger
Michel Auger (27 June 1944 – 31 October 2020) was a Canadian journalist. He was a crime reporter with ''Le Journal de Montréal'', and he spent 42 years in journalism, starting out as a freelancer before becoming well known for covering organized crime, including years of strife between rival motorcycle gangs in the province of Quebec. In 2000, he was shot six times in the back during an attack outside the newspaper office. Career As a young reporter in his home province of Quebec, Auger started off freelancing stories, but gravitated towards crime reporting, where he made his mark on the journalism industry as a reporter who could communicate with both the police and the criminal element in the pursuit of stories. ''Le Journal de Montréal'' is a daily French-language tabloid newspaper published in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Motorcycle Gang
An outlaw motorcycle club is a motorcycle subculture generally centered on the use of cruiser motorcycles, particularly Harley-Davidsons and choppers, and a set of ideals that purport to celebrate freedom, nonconformity to mainstream culture, and loyalty to the biker group. André Desjardins
André "Dédé" Desjardins (4 July 1930 – 27 April 2000) was a Canadian union official noted for his involvement with organized crime. Desjardins served as the president of the ''Conseil des métiers de la construction'' () and vice-president of the '' Fédération des travailleurs du Québec'' (Quebec Federation of Labour, FTQ) union between 1970 and 1974, becoming known as ''Le roi de la construction'' ("the king of construction"). During this time, Desjardins was involved in the scandal that led to the Cliche commission of 1974–75 headed by Judge Robert Cliche to examine corruption in Quebec construction unions. The Rock Machine Motorcycle Club (RMMC) or Rock Machine is an international outlaw motorcycle club founded in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1986. It has twenty one Canadian chapters spread across seven provinces. It also has nine chapters in the United States and eleven chapters in Australia, with chapters also located in 24 other countries worldwide. It was formed in 1986, by Salvatore Cazzetta and his brother Giovanni Cazzetta. The Rock Machine competed with the Hells Angels for control of the street-level narcotics trade in Quebec.
