Zabrze (; German: 1915–1945: ''Hindenburg O.S.'', full form: ''Hindenburg in Oberschlesien'', Silesian: ''Zŏbrze'', yi, זאַבזשע, Zabzhe) is an industrial city in Silesia in southern Poland, near Katowice. The west district of the Silesian Metropolis, a metropolis with a population of around 2 million. It is in the Silesian Highlands, on the Bytomka River, a tributary of the Oder. Zabrze is located in the Silesian Voivodeship, which was reformulated in 1999. Before 1999 it was in Katowice Voivodeship. It is one of the cities composing the 2.7 million inhabitant conurbation referred to as the Katowice urban area, itself a major centre in the greater Silesian metropolitan area which is populated by just over five million people. The population of Zabrze as of December 2021 was 168,946, down from June 2009 when the population was 188,122. The Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School (also known as ''Katowice Film School'') is a polish film and television school established in 1978 and based in Katowice, Poland. It is a full-time film school and offers MA courses in Directing, Cinematography and Photography, Film and Television Producing. Kieślowski Film School is allowed to award PhD degree. One of its first tutors was Krzysztof Kieślowski. It is a part of University of Silesia. In 2017 film school was moved to brand new building at Pawła street no 3 in the downtown of Katowice. The building won the Brick Award and was shortlisted to the Mies Van Der Rohe Award in 2019. ''Piłsudski'' is a 2019 Polish biographical drama film directed and written by Michał Rosa. Plot In 1901, the Polish Socialist Party helped Józef Piłsudski escape from an asylum in Saint Petersburg. After his escape, Piłsudski created Combat Organization of the Polish Socialist Party. On 13 November 1904, the first armed attack of the Combat Organization took place in Grzybowski Square during a demonstration. The Combat Organization murdered Russian generals and officers. PPS members accused 'Ziuk' for his methods. In September 1908, PPS performs successful train robbery in Bezdany. In 1914, World War I began, and Piłsudski took it as an advantage. With permission of Austro-Hungarian authorities, he created Legions, which fought against Russian Empire. In 1918, Piłsudski arrived in Warsaw and delivered speech about Poland's revival.
