Michael Riley (film Producer)
Michael Riley is an English film producer. He is CEO of Bristol and London-based production company Sterling Pictures. Biography Born in Nottingham, Michael Riley grew up in Edwalton. He attended the University of Ulster in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, studying English, Media and Theatre studies. His factual work includes documentaries in China about the Uyghurs in Xinjiang; Kenya where he produced the Turner Prize nominated short film Waiting for artist Zarina Bhimji; and India where he interviewed the 14th Dalai Lama at his palace in Dharamshala. He produced ''In A Land Of Plenty'', a ten-part drama series for the BBC by Sterling Pictures (with TalkBack Productions). He continues to produce mainly feature films in the UK and many of his films have won awards at international film festivals. Sterling Pictures
Sterling Pictures was a film company headed by Henry Ginsberg during the silent film era. Phil Rosen directed many of Sterling's films. H. R. Ebenstein was the manager of sales. In July 1927, when the studio got rid of their foreign broker system and implemented their own foreign sales, Briskin was put in charge, becoming head of their foreign department. In August 1928, Briskin was named vice president of Sterling and given control over all of the company's operations. Arthur F. Beck was the company's president. Yorkshire-Tyne Tees Television was a British broadcasting company, which is now part of ITV plc. History The company was created in June 1992 from the merger of the Independent Television broadcasters Yorkshire Television and Tyne Tees Television in England, United Kingdom. YTT was effected by the overbidding for its franchises in 1992. The company lost £7.9m in 1993, compared with a pretax profit of £16.7m in 1992. John L'Ecuyer (born November 15, 1964) is a Canadian film and television director. Biography John L'Ecuyer's first feature, '' Curtis's Charm'' (1995), was an adaptation of a Jim Carroll story. The film received a Special Jury Citation as Best Canadian Feature Film at the 1995 Toronto International Film Festival. and had a limited theatrical release in North America. Jackie Oudney, is a British film and commercials director. Biography Jackie Oudney was born and raised in Dundee, Scotland. She studied Stage Management at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), London and Camera at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in London. Macdonald is known as the director of the Hugo Award-winning 2007 episode of the ''Doctor Who'' series, "Blink", and won a Grand Prix award, an International Jury Award - Honorable Mention and a People's Choice Award for her work on the film '' Beautiful Thing''.
