Michael Moreland
Michael J. Moreland (born 9 December 1962) is an American politician and lawyer. Moreland was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on 9 December 1962 to John and Mary Moreland. He earned a bachelor's degree from Creighton University and subsequently graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law. Outside of politics, Moreland practiced family law. Ottumwa, Iowa
Ottumwa ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Wapello County, Iowa, United States. The population was 25,529 at the time of the 2020 U.S. Census. Located in the state's southeastern section, the city is split into northern and southern halves by the Des Moines River. Ottumwa serves as a major economic, commercial, and cultural hub for the Southeastern Iowa region. Etymology The city's name derives from Native American Sac and Fox, alternatively Meskwaki, language. The English language translation is generally presumed to refer to the Appanoose Rapids of the Des Moines River, as "tumbling waters" or similar. The Iowa House of Representatives is the lower house of the Iowa General Assembly, the upper house being the Iowa Senate. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half.
