Michael Mokongo
Michael Benoît Mokongo (born July 11, 1986) is a professional basketball player who last played for AS Monaco Basket of the LNB Pro B in France. International career Mokongo first represented the Central African Republic internationally at the 2009 AfroBasket qualifying tournament. He played for the country at the 2011 AfroBasket, averaging 11 points and a team-high 6 assists. Mokongo has also competed for France in the past, playing for them in the 2006 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Aubin-Thierry Goporo (born 15 May 1968) is a Central African basketball coach and former player who is the Director of Student-Athlete Development for the Tennessee Volunteers basketball team. He played college basketball for the Florida Tech Panthers and graduated in 1996. Goporo competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics with the Central African Republic national basketball team and became the coach of the team for the FIBA Africa Championships in 2015. AfroBasket 2015 was the 28th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The FIBA Africa Championship 2009 Qualification occurred on various dates between 4 August 2008 and 31 May 2009. It was used to determine which African national basketball teams would qualify for the FIBA Africa Championship 2009. Teams competed with other teams in their respective "zones" for a spot in the Championship tournament. Central African Republic National Basketball Team
The Central African Republic national basketball team is administered by the Fédération Centrafricaine de Basketball. The team won the African Basketball Championship twice. It became the first Sub-Saharan African team to qualify for the Basketball World Cup. Achievements The Central African Republic has won the African Championship twice. The LNB Pro B, commonly known as Pro B, is the French basketball league system, 2nd-tier level men's professional basketball league in France.
