Overview Wheelchair curling is played with the same rocks and on the same ice as regular curling, though the rocks are thrown from a stationary wheelchair and there is no sweeping. Rocks may be thrown by hand while leaning over the side of the wheelchair, or pushed by a delivery stick. This is a pole with a bracket that fits over the rock handle, allowing the rock to be pushed while applying correct rotation. Stones delivered between the house and the near hogline must be placed within 18 inches either side of the centre line and must be released prior to reaching the near hogline. Aileen Neilson (born 15 August 1971) is a Scotland, Scottish wheelchair curling, wheelchair curler. She is the first woman to skip a wheelchair curling team in either the Wheelchair curling at the Winter Paralympics, Paralympic Games (2010) or World Wheelchair Curling Championship, World Championships (2011). Tom Killin
Tom Killin (born 30 March 1950) is a British multi-sport Paralympian. Killin was paralysed following a traffic accident at the age of 17. Killin was born in Edinburgh. He won two medals in fencing at the 1970 Commonwealth Games. He also represented Scotland and Britain in disability table tennis and basketball for 12 years, including winning a World Championship silver medal in singles table tennis. Killin made his first Paralympic appearance as a wheelchair fencer at the 1980 Summer Games where he won two silver medals, and also competed in the 1984 Summer Paralympics. He first joined the Braehead Curling Club in 2003. In 2005 he represented Scotland at the World Championships in a team that also contained Frank Duffy, Ken Dickson, Angie Malone and Michael McCreadie.
