Michael Constantine Lemos (born May 1955) is a London-based Greek heir, who inherited the shipping company CM Lemos from his father Constantinos Lemos. Michael Constantine Lemos was born in May 1955. Oinousses
Oinousses ( el, Οινούσσες, alternative forms: ''Aignousa'' (Αιγνούσα) or ''Egnousa'' (Εγνούσα)) is a barren cluster of 1 larger and 8 smaller islands some off the north-east coast of the Greek island of Chios and west of Turkey. Administratively the islands form a municipality within the Chios regional unit, which is part of the North Aegean region. The principal town of the islands and seat of the municipality is also called Oinousses. Oinousses has a small resident population, living primarily in the island's town of Oinoússes (pop. 792), and a recently built monastery. The town is centred on a square and a small port; it includes a school, several churches, a Naval high school and a maritime museum. Chios
Chios (; el, Χίος, Chíos , traditionally known as Scio in English) is the fifth largest Greek island, situated in the northern Aegean Sea. The island is separated from Turkey by the Chios Strait. Constantinos Michael "Costas" Lemos (1910–1995) was a Greek billionaire shipping tycoon, who created the shipping company CM Lemos. In 1969, Lemos was the wealthiest of the Greek shipowners, worth $750 million, with a fleet of 60 vessels. By 1980, Lemos was the third largest shipowner in Greece. He later sold most of his vessels and moved into property, tourism and insurance. In 1992, he resided in Lausanne, Switzerland. On his death in 1995, his son Michael Lemos and his two daughters inherited £1.1 billion from their father. The Lemos family is a prominent Greek ship owning family which has been involved in shipping since the 18th century. They originated from Kardamyli in Mani as the 'Lemaki' family. During this period Turkish soldiers had violated many local villages and as a response members from the Lemaki family assassinated all of the Turkish troops stationed there. They emigrated to Chios and changed their names to Lemos during the journey to avoid detection. Having moved from Kardamyli and Langada in the Mani region they then named the areas in Chios "Kardamila" and "Lagada". From 1860 to 1914 the family owned 52 vessels.
