Michael Garvey (Australian Footballer)
Michael "Mick" Garvey (born 16 October 1965) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Garvey was best on ground in Corowa Rutherglen's senior's 1984 Coreen & District Football League's premiership, before playing three seasons of Ovens & Murray football with Wodonga prior to playing with Carlton. Garvey was selected by Geelong in the 1990 VFL Pre-season draft but failed to play a senior game with the Cats. Garvey played in Wodonga's 1990 and 1992 Ovens & Murray premierships and enjoyed a fine career their for many more years, playing 161 games. Michael Garvey (born July 27, 1988) is a former American rugby league player for the Philadelphia Fight in the USA Rugby League. He represented his country in the 2013 World Cup. Raised in Haddonfield, New Jersey, Garvey played prep football at Haddonfield Memorial High School. Playing career Garvey has played for the Ipswich Jets in the Queensland Cup, Aston Bulls in the AMNRL and previously played rugby union for Hawaii Pacific University where he was awarded the 2010 Hawaii Rugby Football Union MVP Award, and rugby league for the Aston Bulls where he was awarded the 2011 AMNRL Rookie of the Year Award as well as the 2012 U.S. International Player of the Year. Michael Garvey (born September 13, 1962) is an American professional stock car racing driver who currently works as a crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for DGM Racing's No. 90 Chevrolet Camaro. As a driver, he competed in NASCAR and the American Speed Association. NASCAR career Garvey has participated in races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Busch Series, and NEXTEL Cup since 1993. He has participated in three or less races each year except for the 1994 Busch Series and the 2005 NEXTEL Cup Series driving the No. 66 Ford. His best career NEXTEL Cup finish is a 25th-place finish at the 2005 Pocono Raceway. During the 2006 season, Garvey made four Nextel Cup starts for Competitive Edge Motorsports owned by Joe Auer.
