Mike Garvey
Michael Garvey (born September 13, 1962) is an American professional stock car racing driver who currently works as a crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for DGM Racing's No. 90 Chevrolet Camaro. As a driver, he competed in NASCAR and the American Speed Association. NASCAR career Garvey has participated in races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Busch Series, and NEXTEL Cup since 1993. He has participated in three or less races each year except for the 1994 Busch Series and the 2005 NEXTEL Cup Series driving the No. 66 Ford. His best career NEXTEL Cup finish is a 25th-place finish at the 2005 Pocono Raceway. During the 2006 season, Garvey made four Nextel Cup starts for Competitive Edge Motorsports owned by Joe Auer. I-70 Motorsports Park, formally known as I-70 Speedway, is a multi-purpose motorsports facility near Interstate 70 east of Odessa, Missouri, USA. The track, first opened in 1969, was open yearly until its closure in 2008. After more than a decade of being left effectively abandoned, I-70 Motorsports Park reopened in April 2021 under new ownership, after a resurfacing of the asphalt track to a 3/8 mile dirt track and adding a newly constructed 1/4 mile dragstrip. California Speedway
Auto Club Speedway, originally opened as California Speedway, is a , low-banked, D-shaped oval superspeedway in unincorporated San Bernardino County, California, near Fontana. It has hosted NASCAR racing annually since 1997. It was also previously used for open wheel racing events. The racetrack is located east of Los Angeles and is near the former locations of Ontario Motor Speedway and Riverside International Raceway. The track is owned and operated by NASCAR. The speedway is served by the nearby Interstate 10 and Interstate 15 freeways as well as a Metrolink station located behind the backstretch. Joe Auer
Joseph Auer (October 11, 1941 – March 9, 2019) was an American football former running back. He graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School in Coral Gables, Florida and played collegiately for Georgia Tech and professionally in the American Football League for the Buffalo Bills (1964–1965), and the Miami Dolphins (1966–1967). He also played in the National Football League for the Atlanta Falcons. He is most remembered for returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown for the Dolphins in their first regular-season football game in 1966, 95 yards against the Oakland Raiders. American Speed Association
The American Speed Association (ASA) is a sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States formed in 1968. The Association was based in Pendleton, Indiana, and later in Daytona Beach, Florida. The ASA sanctioned asphalt and dirt tracks in their ASA Member Track program along with racing series in the United States and Canada. The ASA was most famous for a national touring series which began in 1973 but was discontinued in 2004 due to financial difficulties. In 2005, ASA became primarily a short track sanctioning clearinghouse under the leadership of Dennis Huth.
