Michael Fairman (born February 25, 1934) is an American actor and writer. Career He is best known for his various roles during his long career, which started when he was 31 years old. This includes the role of Nick Szabo on the daytime drama, ''Ryan's Hope'', his recurring role as Department Inspector Knelman on ''Cagney & Lacey'', and the recurring role of Patrick Murphy on CBS's daytime drama, ''The Young and the Restless''.
