Michael Castner is an American journalist, television host and radio personality. He is the morning national news anchor for NBC News Radio. He formerly hosted ''The Michael Castner Show'' on KEX (AM), KEX in Portland, Oregon, Portland and The Daily Wrap for the Wall Street Journal Radio Network. ''The Michael Castner Show'' debuted on KEX (AM), KEX in July 2013 and was cancelled December 2016. The syndicated Daily Wrap show debuted in April 2011, and aired live from 6 to 9 pm Eastern Time. Charter affiliates include KEIB, Los Angeles, and KLIF (AM), KLIF, Dallas. Affiliates WBQT (FM), 96.9 WTKK-FM, Boston, WHNZ, Tampa, and KSTE, Sacramento, were added in the summer of 2011. Additional large market affiliates KVI, Seattle, KHOW, Denver (9 pm-midnight), KEX (AM), KEX, Portland, and KTAR-FM, 92.3 KTAR-FM, Phoenix, were added in January 2012. KEX (AM)
KEX (1190 kHz) is a clear channel AM radio station licensed to Portland, Oregon. It is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc., and airs a news/talk format known as ''NewsRadio 1190''. The station's studios and offices are on SW 68th Parkway, off Interstate 5 in Tigard, Oregon. Because KEX is a 50,000-watt Class A station, it reaches all of the Portland metropolitan area and beyond, providing grade B coverage as far south as Corvallis and as far east as The Dalles. At night, KEX can be heard around the Western United States and Western Canada. The transmitter is located off SE Lawnfield Road in Sunnyside. It uses a non-directional antenna in the daytime, but at night, to protect other stations on 1190 AM, it switches to a directional antenna with a three-tower array.
