Michael Campbell (basketball)
Michael "Mike" Campbell (born May 21, 1975) is a retired American professional basketball player. High school and college career Campbell was born in Brooklyn, New York and played at Manhattan Park West High School in New York City. He went on to play at the Westchester Community College. In 1995, he was transferred to LIU Brooklyn. He was named two-time Battle of Brooklyn MVP, 1997 and 1998. In December 2017, Campbell was honored as a member of the LIU Brooklyn Athletics Hall of Fame. Professional career A swingman, Campbell played in Argentina, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Venezuela, and Yugoslavia, beside domestic leagues such as CBA, USBL, and BSN (Puerto Rico). Aurora Basket Jesi is an Italian professional basketball club based in Jesi. It plays in the second division Serie A2 as of the 2015-16 season. History In 1965, Gianni Rossetti (a television journalist for RAI), Carlo Barchiesi (current president) and Primo Novelli (then responsible for the club's junior sides) helped form Aurora Basket Jesi along with president Mario Gherardi. At the time, Springoil had been strongest side of Jesi, flirting with a promotion to the top-tier, but it disappeared due to financial difficulties. Battle Of Brooklyn (college Rivalry)
The Battle of Brooklyn was the college sports rivalry between Long Island University and St. Francis College. The LIU Sharks and SFBK Terriers were both in the Northeast Conference and competed against each other in various sports. The Battle of Brooklyn was a fierce rivalry, which originated in men's basketball; while the two schools are rivals in all sports that both schools sponsor, the "Battle of Brooklyn" name is currently applied only to matchups in men's and women's basketball and men's soccer. Albany Patroons
The Albany Patroons are a professional basketball team that plays in The Basketball League (TBL). Previously, the team competed in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and in the United States Basketball League (USBL). The Patroons won CBA championships in 1984 and 1988 as well as a TBL championship in 2019. Formed in 1982, the Patroons' original home arena was the Washington Avenue Armory, a former New York National Guard armory. The team later moved from this location to MVP Arena, then known as the Knickerbocker Arena. The franchise was renamed the Capital Region Pontiacs in 1992 and was relocated to Connecticut in 1993.
