Michael Albasini (born 20 December 1980) is a Swiss former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2003 and 2020, for the , , and teams. Professional career Albasini began his career in 2003 with , moved to at the beginning of 2005, and signed with for the 2009 season. From 2012 until his retirement, Albasini rode with the Australian professional cycling team . In 2012, Albasini met success at the UCI World Tour race Volta a Catalunya. The six-stage event contained no time trials, and Albasini took the lead by triumphing on the very first stage over Anthony Delaplace from , getting a 42 seconds overall lead. The Tour of Austria (german: Internationale Österreich Rundfahrt) is a stage cycling race held in Austria. From 1949 to 1995 it was a race for amateur cyclists, turning into a professional event in 1996. 2014 Tre Valli Varesine
The 2014 Tre Valli Varesine was the 94th edition of the Tre Valli Varesine single-day cycling race. While previous editions were held in August, the 2014 edition was raced on 18 September. The organizers of the race planned to attract more top-rank riders by moving the date of the race towards closer to the World Championship, so that cyclist who planned to compete in the World Championship could participate to the Tre Valli Varesine in preparation. The 2015 La Flèche Wallonne was the 79th edition of the La Flèche Wallonne one-day cycling classic; it took place on 22 April and was the twelfth race of the 2015 UCI World Tour. La Flèche Wallonne was the second of the three Ardennes classics, coming three days after the 2015 Amstel Gold Race, Amstel Gold Race (won in 2015 by Michał Kwiatkowski) and four days before 2015 Liège–Bastogne–Liège, Liège–Bastogne–Liège. Samuel "Samu" Sánchez González (born 5 February 1978) is a Spanish former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally in the sport between 2000 and 2017 for the and squads. 2012 Volta A Catalunya
The 2012 Volta a Catalunya was the 92nd running of the Volta a Catalunya cycling stage race. It started on 19 March in Calella and ended on 25 March in Barcelona, and consisted of seven stages. It was the fifth race of the 2012 UCI World Tour season. The race was won by Switzerland's Michael Albasini of , after winning the first two stages of the race and maintained his advantage all the way to the end of the race. The 2012 UCI World Tour was the fourth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. History In 1995 Australian Bill Mitchell, a keen cyclist and professor of economics at the University of Newcastle, created the website titled "Bill’s Cycling Racing Results and News" after finding there was a need for fast-breaking news and race results in English-speaking countries. In 1999 Sydney-based publishing company Knapp Communications purchased the website from Mitchell, and in July 2007 they sold it to British publisher Future plc for £2.2m. In July 2014 it was bought by Immediate Media Company, along with the print-only ''Procycling'' magazine. In February 2019, Immediate Media sold its cycling titles back to Future.
