Mi Casa (magazine)
Mi Casa is a house music, house trio based in Johannesburg, South Africa and consisting of three members, Dr. Duda (producer and pianist), J'Something (vocalist and guitarist), and Mo-T (trumpeter). The band was formed in early 2011 in Johannesburg when all three future members were at a night lounge and decided to perform together. A few months later, they released an album titled ''Micasa Music'', which went gold certification quickly and won several awards at the 18th Annual MTN South Africa Music Awards in 2012. The band's second studio album Su Casa (2015) reached number one in South Africa. The band then embarked on a Mi Casa Gone Global Tour. The band released their third studio album, ''Home Sweet Home'' (2013), which resulted with two chart-topping singles "Chocolate" & "Barman". Big Nuz
Big Nuz was a South African Kwaito trio from Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, founded in 2002. The group was composed of three members known by their stage names Mampintsha, R Mashesha, and Danger. History 2003–2006: Early years The founding members grew up together in the township of Umlazi. The naming of the group was inspired by "NUZ", which is the licence plate prefix for all vehicles registered in Umlazi. The group consisted of three members: Mandla Maphumulo (a.k.a. Reason Studios (formerly known as Propellerhead Software) is a music software company, based in Stockholm, Sweden, and founded in 1994. It produces the studio emulation Reason. Cubase is a digital audio workstation (DAW) developed by Steinberg for music and MIDI recording, arranging and editing. The first version, which was originally only a MIDI sequencer and ran on the Atari ST computer, was released in 1989. Mango Groove
Mango Groove is an 11-piece South African Afropop band whose music fuses pop and township music—especially marabi and kwela. Since their foundation in 1984, the band has released six studio albums and numerous singles. Their most recent album, 2016's ''Faces to the Sun'', was more than four years in the making. African Popular Music
African popular music (also styled Afropop, Afro-pop or Afro pop), like African traditional music, is vast and varied. Most contemporary genres of African popular music build on cross-pollination with western popular music. The 27th Annual South African Music Awards were the 27th edition of the South African Music Awards. The award show was broadcast live on SABC 1 on July 31, 2021 and was held virtually due to the effects of COVID-19 lockdowns. The nominees were announced on 19 May 2021. Kabza De Small received the most nominations with six, ahead of Sun-El Musician with five nominations. The 27th annual SAMAs introduced new categories, introducing best amapiano, gqom and kwaito albums as their own categories.
