Gegharkunik Province
Gegharkunik ( hy, Գեղարքունիք, ) is a province ('' marz'') of Armenia. Its capital and largest city is Gavar. Gegharkunik Province is located at the eastern part of Armenia, bordering Azerbaijan. It includes the exclave of Artsvashen, which has been under Azerbaijani occupation since the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. With an area of , Gegharkunik is the largest province in Armenia. Pokr Masrik ( hy, Փոքր Մասրիկ) is a town in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. Azerbaijanis lived in the village prior to their exodus from Armenia after the outbreak of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. From 1988 and onward, Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan settled in the village. The village is located close to Mets Masrik (). History The village has a 12th-century church.
