Metronome (artists' And Writers' Organ)
''Metronome'' is an artists' and writers' organ founded in 1996 by Clémentine Deliss. It acts as alternative art publishing, because it has not a fixed editorial team and a fixed location. Its activity started with the publication of a sort of a magazine and in 2005 Deliss decided to build also an experimental publishing house called Metronome Press. ''Metronome'' is a non-profit organisation, it is first of all an organ and a research methodology where artists, writers and curators collaborate to produce printed projects. Its first attempt is to work with fiction, mixing art and literature. For this reason professionals of aesthetic practice, such as the artist, the critic or the writer, overlap and change their role. Clémentine Deliss
Clémentine Deliss (born 1960) is a London-born curator, researcher and publisher. Biography Clémen Mary Deliz born in 1960 in London to French-Austrian parents. She studied art in Vienna, Austria, and holds a B.A. in Social Anthropology and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), on eroticism and exoticism in French anthropology of the 1820s. She has acted as a consultant for the European Union in Dakar and various cultural organizations, and conducted specific research projects through the support of art academies in Vienna, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bordeaux, Bergen, Copenhagen, Malmö, Stockholm, and London. Alan Johnston
Alan Graham Johnston (born 17 May 1962) is a British journalist working for the BBC. He has been the BBC's correspondent in Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, the Gaza Strip and Italy. He is based in London. Johnston was kidnapped in the Gaza Strip on 12 March 2007 by the militant group Army of Islam. He was unconditionally released on 4 July, nearly four months later, after much pressure was put on the group by the now-dominant Hamas. Hamish Fulton
Hamish Fulton (born 1946) is an English walking artist. Since 1972 he has only made works based on the experience of walks. He translates his walks into a variety of media, including photography, illustrations, and wall texts. His work is contained in major museums collections, such as the Tate Britain and MoMA. Since 1994 he has been creating group walks for the public. Fulton argues that 'walking is an artform in its own right' and argues for wider acknowledgement of walking art. Biography He first attended the art foundation course at Hammersmith College of Art. With help from a tutor ( David Hall) he was accepted straight into the advanced course at Saint Martin's School of Art, London, 1966–68, and the following year studied at the Royal College of Art, London.
