Metro West Conference
Metro West Conference is a high school athletic conference in Minnesota. The name is based on the location of the schools in the western part of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area. The conference began in fall 2014. The conference was announced on March 5, 2013, by seven public schools (Bloomington Jefferson, Bloomington Kennedy, Chanhassen, Chaska, Richfield, Robbinsdale Cooper and St. Louis Park). In September 2013, the Minnesota State High School League assigned Benilde-St. Margaret's a private school, to the conference over the objections of the other schools. Richfield High School left in 2019. Kennedy left in 2022. Member schools Robbinsdale Cooper competes in the Northwest Suburban Conference for ice hockey in a co-op with Robbinsdale Armstrong. New Prague High School
New Prague High School is a public secondary school in New Prague, Minnesota, United States serving the communities of New Prague, Lonsdale, and Elko New Market. The school has a ninety-eight percent or better graduation rate on average, and ninety percent of graduates attend a post-secondary institution. History The first high school classes in New Prague were held in a K–12 schoolhouse with the first high school class graduating in 1907. A separate high school building was constructed in 1924 at the corner of 1st Avenue NW and Main Street. An addition to that building opened in 1963, and a new high school opened across the street in 1976. Robbinsdale Armstrong High School
Robbinsdale Armstrong High School (full name Robbinsdale Neil A. Armstrong Senior High School) (abbr. AHS) is located in Plymouth, Minnesota, just outside Minneapolis. The school serves students from the cities of Robbinsdale, Crystal, New Hope, Plymouth and Golden Valley. The school offers core subjects as well as technology education, physical education, and the fine arts. ''Newsweek'' ranked the school 1324. Waconia High School
Waconia High School is a public high school located in Waconia, Minnesota, United States. A part of Waconia Public Schools, the school has an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students in grades 9 through 12 and serves the communities of Waconia, St. Bonifacius, Minnetrista, Victoria and New Germany. History After a previous 2011 referendum failed, a November 2014 referendum to expand Clearwater Middle School and turn it in to a new high school passed. Saint Louis Park High School
St. Louis Park High School is a four-year public high school located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, United States. St. Louis Park High School is ranked by ''Newsweek'' as #290 in their "List of the 1500 Top High Schools in America," #3 among Minnesota schools on the list in 2012. In 2001, the high school began participation in the International Baccalaureate program and has since been decreasing the number of Advanced Placement classes offered in the curriculum. Robbinsdale Cooper High School
Robbinsdale Cooper High School is a 4-year public high school in New Hope, Minnesota, a northwest suburb of Minneapolis, United States. Cooper, as it is informally known, became an IB World School in July 1998, and now offers the IB Middle Years Program ''(MYP)'' and the IB Diploma Programme along with a wide variety of courses and curricula suited to the needs of every student. RCHS has a large fine arts and music program, as well as multiple extracurricular activities including a broad selection of athletics. RCHS is home to about 1600 students. Chaska High School
Chaska Senior High School (CHS) is a public high school located in Chaska, Minnesota, United States, a southwestern suburb of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. CHS is a 912 grade school that is attended by more than 1,500 students. The school mascot is the "Hawk," with the school colors being purple and gold. History Chaska High School first opened in the early 20th-century with its first graduating class in 1906. Since then, Chaska High School has moved to newer facilities three times. Chanhassen High School
Chanhassen High School (CNHS) is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Chanhassen, Minnesota, United States, a southwestern suburb of Minneapolis. Construction of the school was approved by voters in 2006 in response to rapidly growing enrollment in Carver County and overcrowding at Chaska High School, the district's other high school. History As a result of steady population increases in Carver County, Chaska High School's enrollment surpassed its building's designed capacity, with future growth in the school district expected. As a result, voters approved a referendum in 2006 to provide funding for a new high school. The vote was very close, a matter of 2% of the population. Bloomington Kennedy High School
John F. Kennedy High School is one of two public high schools located in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA. Named after former president John F. Kennedy, it was opened in 1965 due to the rapid growth of Bloomington at the time. Athletics The school had been a member of the Lake Conference since the school opened but left the Lake Conference after the 2009–10 school year to become part of the new South Suburban Conference. In 2014, Kennedy joined the new Metro West Conference. In 2022, Kennedy joined the Tri-Metro Conference. Performing arts Kennedy has four competitive show choirs, the mixed-gender "Rhythm in Gold", the all-female "East Side Swingers", the all-men "Men in Motion" and the intermediate mixed-gender "Blue and Gold Velvet", which debuted during the 2022 competitive season.
