Metal Heart (film)
Metal Heart is a 2018 Irish comedy film, written by Paul Murray and directed by Hugh O'Conor, about warring sisters in Dublin. This is the first feature film that O'Connor has directed. Cast ''Metal Heart'' stars Jordanne Jones as Emma, Leah McNamara as Chantal. It also stars Moe Dunford, Aaron Heffernan, Sean Doyle, Yasmine Akram and Dylan Moran. Paul Murray (born 1975) is an Irish novelist, the author of the novels '' An Evening of Long Goodbyes'', ''Skippy Dies'' and '' The Mark and the Void''. Biography Murray was born in Dublin in 1975, the son of a professor of Anglo-Irish Drama at University College Dublin and a teacher. Murray attended Blackrock College in south Dublin, an experience that would later provide the basis for the school in ''Skippy Dies''. He studied English literature at Trinity College, Dublin, and subsequently completed his master's in creative writing at the University of East Anglia. He also spent time in Barcelona as an English teacher, a time he did not enjoy, describing it as "a brief and unhappy stint teaching English to a Catalan businessman, who pointed out many faults in my grammar I had not known about hitherto". Hugh O'Conor
Hugh O'Conor (born 19 April 1975) is an Irish actor, writer, director, and photographer. In 2020, he was listed as number 49 on ''The Irish Times'' list of Ireland's greatest film actors. Career His first film appearance was opposite Liam Neeson in the 1985 movie ''Lamb''. He won a Young Artist Awards in 1990 for his role in the Oscar-winning film ''My Left Foot'', in which he portrayed the childhood days of Christy Brown, an Irishman born with cerebral palsy, who could control only his left foot. The film was nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture, and won two: Daniel Day-Lewis for Best Actor and Brenda Fricker for Best Supporting Actress. She began her career as a child actress, earning a Dublin Film Critics' Circle Award as well as an IFTA nomination for her debut film role in Frank Berry's ''I Used to Live Here''.
