Jordanne Jones
Jordanne Jones (born 7 August 2000) is an Irish actress. She began her career as a child actress, earning a Dublin Film Critics' Circle Award as well as an IFTA nomination for her debut film role in Frank Berry's ''I Used to Live Here''. In 2016 and 2019, she played Minnie Mahon in the RTÉ One miniseries ''Rebellion'' and '' Resistance''. Her lead performance in ''Metal Heart'' earned her the Bingham Ray award for Best Newcomer at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2018. She was named one of Screen International's 2019 Stars of Tomorrow. She appeared in short films for spoken word artist and actor Emmet Kirwan, and musicians Dermot Kennedy and Lilla Vargen. She presented an award alongside actor Robert Sheehan. The Galway Film Fleadh (; Irish for "festival") is an international film festival founded in 1989 as part of the Galway Arts Festival. Describing itself as Ireland’s leading film festival, the event is held every July in Galway city in Ireland. The Thirty-sixth Amendment of the Constitution of Ireland (previously bill no. 29 of 2018) is an amendment to the Constitution of Ireland which permits the Oireachtas to legislate for abortion. The constitution had previously prohibited abortion unless there was a serious risk to the life of the mother. The proposal is often described as the Repeal of the Eighth Amendment, referring to the 1983 constitutional amendment which guaranteed the right to life of the unborn, making abortion illegal unless the pregnancy was life-threatening. The 2018 amendment replaces Article 40.3.3° of the Constitution, which was added in 1983 and amended in 1992.
