Merwin ("Marvin") B. Graham (March 4, 1903 – January 24, 1989) was an American track and field athlete who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics. He was born in Fairview, West Virginia, attended high school in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and later attended the University of Kansas, where he was a member of the KU track team. Merwin Crawford Young (November 7, 1931 – January 22, 2020) was an American political scientist and professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Education He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his PhD from Harvard in 1964, where his advisor was the famed scholar Rupert Emerson, the only person ever to serve as president of both the African Studies Association and the Asian Studies Association. Academic career Young became an assistant professor at Wisconsin in 1963, and published his first major work, ''Politics in the Congo: Decolonization and Independence''. Merwin D. "Jimmy" Maier (August 14, 1908 – February 15, 1942) was an American attorney and bridge player from New York City. He was a member of the Four Aces from 1937 until his death from an unknown virus in New York in 1942. Maier was born into a Jewish family in Manhattan, the son of Julius Maier and Lydia B. Maier. All four of his grandparents emigrated from Germany. He attended Columbia Law School and was an editor on the Columbia Law Review. He died at age 33 after suffering from an illness for two months. Merwin John William Jacobson (March 7, 1894 – January 13, 1978) was a backup outfielder in Major League Baseball who played for three different teams between and . Listed at , 165 lb., Jacobson batted and threw left-handed. He was born in New Britain, Connecticut. A decent outfielder with a hard throwing arm, Jacobson entered the majors in 1915 with the New York Giants, playing for them one year before joining the Chicago Cubs in 1916. From 1917 to 1925 he played with the Baltimore Orioles and Jersey City Skeeters of the International League. During the 1920 season, Jacobsen led the International League with a batting average of .404, 235 hits and 161 runs scored. He returned to the major leagues with the Brooklyn Robins in 1926 and 1927. His most productive season came in 1926 with Brooklyn, when he posted a .247 batting average with 23 RBI in a career-high 110 games.
