Mercedes Vostell
Mercedes Vostell (born Mercedes Guardado Olivenza, 22 July 1933) is a Spanish writer and since 1998 the artistic director of the Museo Vostell Malpartida (MVM). Mercedes Vostell is the widow of German painter, sculptor, Fluxus and happening artist Wolf Vostell. Biography Mercedes Vostell was born in Ceclavín. At the age of four she moved with her family to Cáceres. After completing her secondary education, she studied teaching, finishing in 1956. Her first assignment as a primary school teacher took her to Guadalupe, Cáceres in 1957. In April 1958 she met Wolf Vostell in Guadalupe and married him in January 1959 in the Church of Santiago in Cáceres. After their wedding she moved to Cologne where she lived from 1959 to 1970 when they set up their residence in West Berlin. Since 1960 she participated in Wolf Vostell's Happenings. David Vostell
David Vostell (born 10 October 1960) is a German-Spanish composer and film director. Biography David Vostell was born in Cologne, the first child of Wolf Vostell and his Spanish wife Mercedes Guardado. His father and his father's art have formed his view of the world from his earliest childhood onwards. The artistics movements of the 1960s and the early 1970s as well as his father's circle with people as Nam June Paik and Allan Kaprow, with whom he often sat together as a teenager, marked him deeply. From 1977 until 1980 he made apprenticeships at the TV and radio station Sender Freies Berlin, as well as at the publicity agency TBWA in Frankfurt am Main. He worked as an assistant film editor, as a film projectionist, in a photolab, in a photostudio and as photographer. Victoria Carolina Coronado y Romero de Tejada (12 December 1820 – 15 January 1911) was a Spanish writer, famous for her poetry, considered the equivalent of contemporary Romantic authors like Rosalía de Castro. Ulrike Ottinger (born 6 June 1942) is a German filmmaker and photographer. Early life From 1959 she was a visiting student at the Academy of Arts in Munich and worked as a painter. Her mother, Maria Weinberg, was a journalist and her father, Ulrich Ottinger, was a painter. From 1962 to 1968, Ottinger worked as a freelance artist in Paris and studied etching with Johnny Friedlaender among other studies. They participated in several exhibitions. Wolf Vostell
Wolf Vostell (14 October 1932 – 3 April 1998) was a German painter and sculptor, considered one of the early adopters of video art and installation art and pioneer of Happenings and Fluxus. Techniques such as blurring and Dé-coll/age are characteristic of his work, as is embedding objects in concrete and the use of television sets in his works. Wolf Vostell was married to the Spanish writer Mercedes Vostell and has two sons, David Vostell and Rafael Vostell.
