The Arena Leipzig is a multipurpose indoor arena located in Leipzig, Germany. The capacity of the arena is 8,000 people for sporting events and up to 12,200 for shows and concerts. It is part of the Sportforum Leipzig, which also contains Red Bull Arena and the Sportmuseum Leipzig. Jérémy Cadot
Jérémy Cadot (born 7 November 1986) is a French foil fencer, bronze medallist at the 2013 World Fencing Championships in Budapest and team European Champion in 2015. Biography Cadot was born and raised in Lens, in northern France. He took an interest in fencing after watching it on television. He took up the sport at the age of seven at his local club under maestro Fabrice Vanhems. He won the U14 French national championship, ranked 9th at the 2003 World Cadet Championships in Trapani and took a double silver medal at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Taebaek City. He finished the 2005–06 season World No.7 in junior rankings. In the senior category, Cadot climbed his first World Cup podium with a silver medal in Copenhagen in January 2007, followed a few months later by a bronze on Isla Margarita. Julien Mertine (born 26 June 1988) is a French right-handed foil fencer, four-time team European champion, 2014 team world champion, and 2021 team Olympic champion. Career Mertine took up fencing at the age of five with his father, a fencing master who trained amongst others World champion Victor Sintès. When he was eighteen he joined the centre for promising young fencers at Châtenay-Malabry. He earned a team bronze medal at the 2007 Junior European Championships in Prag and at the 2008 Junior World Championships in Acireale. In 2009 he was admitted into INSEP, a state-sponsored institution for high-performance athletes.
