Melbourne City Football Club Youth is the youth system of Melbourne City Football Club based in Melbourne, Victoria. The youth team plays in the NPL Victoria 3, the third tier of Victorian football in Australia. The club also competes in the under-21s A-League Youth competition. The under-21s and under-19s teams play also play in the NPL Victoria 3 in their respective age level. History Early years (2011–2014) The team was founded in 2011 as Melbourne Heart Youth, the season after their senior side Melbourne City (then known as Melbourne Heart FC), made their A-League debut. The inaugural manager was John Aloisi before he accepted the role as head manager at the end of the 2011–12 season. From 2012 onwards, Joe Palatsides had been the manager. CB Smith Reserve
CB Smith Reserve is a football facility based in Fawkner, Victoria, a suburb 12 km north of the centre of Melbourne. The venue is home to the Pascoe Vale Soccer Club and Brunswick Juventus who compete in the National Premier Leagues Victoria 2, as well as State League side Fawkner SC as principle tenant. The venue also hosted home games for Melbourne City FC in the national W-League competition between 2014 and 2019. The venue was redeveloped at a cost of $6.3 million in late 2014 and early 2015, featuring new and improved club rooms, a high quality pitch and a covered grandstand seating up to 500 people. Northcote City Football Club (Iraklis) is a soccer club based on the border of Thornbury and Northcote, Victoria (Australia). Max Caputo (born 17 August 2005) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Melbourne City. Club career Melbourne City On 23 April 2021, Caputo earned a scholarship contract at A-League club Melbourne City after spending four years in their youth setup. After some first-team players had left their squad during the 2020–21 season, it was rumoured that Max Caputo would fill into their squad in a Melbourne Derby. At age 15, Caputo made his senior professional debut on 6 June 2021 against Melbourne Victory as a substitute.
