Mehtab Singh ( pa, ਮਹਿਤਾਬ ਸਿੰਘ; born 5 June 1998) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Indian Super League club Mumbai City and the India national team. Career Early career Mehtab Singh was born in Khemkaran village in Punjab. He travelled around 165 kilometres from Khemkaran to Mahilpur football academy to learn to play football. He later represented the East Bengal U18 side in the 2017–18 U18 I-League. On 13 December 2017, he scored a goal to help his team to a victory over Mohun Bagan in a crucial under-18 I-League match. East Bengal He was promoted to the senior squad and played in the 2017–18 Calcutta Premier Division for the club. On 28 November 2017, he made I-League debut in a 2–2 draw against Aizawl. Khemkaran
Khem Karan is a town and a nagar panchayat, just 56km from Tarn Taran Sahib in Tarn Taran district of Patti tehsil of the Majha region of Indian state of Punjab. I-League
The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. The competition was founded in 2007 as the successor to the National Football League, with the first season starting in November 2007. The 2018–19 I-League was the 12th season of the I-League, the top Indian professional football league, since its establishment in 2007. 2020 AFC U-23 Championship Qualification
The 2020 AFC U-23 Championship qualification was an international men's under-23 football competition which decide the participating teams of the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship. A total of 16 teams qualified to play in the final tournament, including Thailand who qualified automatically as hosts country.
