2017–18 East Bengal FC Season
The 2017–18 season is East Bengal FC's 98th season in existence. The club has won the Calcutta Football League this season for the record consecutive 8th time. The Red and Gold Brigade finished 4th in the much-awaited 2017-18 I League campaign, coming ever so close once again. East Bengal reached the final of the inaugural Indian Super Cup being held at Bhubaneshwar but lost to Bengaluru FC by 4–1. Pre-Season Overview The club roped in I League winning coach Khalid Jamil as their head coach from Aizawl FC and physio ''Djair Miranda Garcia'' from arch-rivals Mohun Bagan who was pivotal to Mohun Bagan's success in recent years. East Bengal retained their star striker Willis Deon Plaza and brought in I League winning Midfielder Mahmoud Amnah from Aizawl FC. East Bengal also roped in 3 more players from Aizawl FC, wingers Brandon Vanlalremdika, Laldanmawia Ralte and Left Back Lalramchullova. Kingfishers are a family, the Alcedinidae, of small to medium-sized, brightly colored birds in the order Coraciiformes. They have a cosmopolitan distribution, with most species found in the tropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Oceania, but also can be seen in Europe. They can be found in deep forests near calm ponds and small rivers. The family contains 114 species and is divided into three subfamilies and 19 genera. All kingfishers have large heads, long, sharp, pointed bills, short legs, and stubby tails. Most species have bright plumage with only small differences between the sexes. Most species are tropical in distribution, and a slight majority are found only in forests. They consume a wide range of prey usually caught by swooping down from a perch. Katsumi Yusa
is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Fukushima United. Career Sanfrecce Hiroshima Yusa debuted for Sanfrecce Hiroshima in a 2-2 home draw against Gamba Osaka in the 2007 J1 League on 1 December. Yusa also made two appearances in the 2007 J. League Cup. Sanfrecce Hiroshima finished third last of the 2007 J1 League table and were subsequently relegated to J2 League upon a 2-1 aggregate loss against Kyoto Sanga FC during the 2007 J.League Promotion/Relegation Series. The Calcutta Football League (CFL) is a ladder-based football competition in the Indian state of West Bengal, organised by Indian Football Association (WB), under state football leagues in India. Due to sponsorship reasons, the league is officially known as SNU Calcutta Football League, and is the oldest football league in Asia. Lalramchullova (born 14 January 1996) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Mohammedan in the I-League. Career Born in Mizoram, Lalramchullova started his career with Aizawl. He made his professional debut for Aizawl in the I-League on 9 January 2016 against the reigning champions, Mohun Bagan. He came on as an 80th minute substitute as Aizawl lost 3–1. East Bengal He joined East Bengal in 2017 and became a regular starter for the team.
