Mehdi Amirabadi
Mehdi Amirabadi ( fa, مهدی امیرآبادی, born 22 February 1979) is a retired Iranian footballer who usually played as a full back. Early years Amirabadi was born in Tehranpars, Tehran, Iran. Club career He joined Saipa in 1998. He joined Esteghlal F.C. in 2004. Since joining the club, he has again and again proven himself at the club scoring many vital goals as well as saving many. He has been the regular player since he joined Esteghlal on the right side for the team. In 2012, he was chosen as the club's captain after Farhad Majidi left the club on loan to Al-Gharafa. After spending 8 seasons at Esteghlal, by end of 2011–12 season he moved to Foolad along with Esmaeil Sharifat. He left Foolad in summer 2013 and joined Azadegan League side Paykan. He helped the club to promoted back to the Iran Pro League for the 2014–15 season. The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. Hazfi Cup
Hazfi Cup (Jām-e Hazfi; ) is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, run by the Iranian Football Federation. The Iranian football league was not held during the 1980s, hence the winner of Hazfi Cup represented Iran in the Asian Club Championship. After the revive of the league system, the champion of Iranian league qualified for Asian Club Championship and the winner of Hazfi Cup ran for Asian Cup Winners' Cup. However, the Asian Cup Winners' Cup merged with the Asian Champions Cup in 2002–03 to form the AFC Champions League and Iran had been initially given two (and later four) slots in this competitions. The IRIFF decided to award one of Iran's AFC Champions League spots to the winner of the Hazfi Cup, and since then, the winners of Hazfi Cup have always been allocated a spot in the AFC Champions League. The Azadegan League ( fa, ليگ آزادگان, ''Lig-e Âzâdegân''), also known as League 1 ( fa, لیگ یک, ''Lig-e Yek''), is the second highest division of professional football in Iran. It was the top-level football league in Iran from its foundation in 1991 until 2001, when the Persian Gulf Pro League was established.
