Mehboob Alam (actor)
Mehboob Alam (14 March 1948 – 18 March 1994) was a Pakistani actor best known for his role in the PTV drama serial '' Waris'' (1979–1982), in which he played the role of Chaudhry Hashmat Khan. ''Waris'' ( ur, ) is a Pakistani television drama serial created by PTV, written by Amjad Islam Amjad, directed by Ghazanfer Ali and Nusrat Thakur. The first episode was aired from PTV-Lahore on Saturday 29 December 1979 and the last on 22 March 1980 and was an acclaimed mega hit. The show had 13 episodes, which is a traditional PTV drama serial format; with each episode almost one hour long. Plot A Pakistani feudal lord (''zamindar''), ChaudhryThe name '' Chaudhary '' also means a feudal lord. Hashmat rules his fiefdom, Sikandarpur with an iron grip. ''Khaak Aur Khoon'' is a 1979 Pakistani Urdu film directed by Masood Parvez and based on the Naseem Hijazi's novel by the same name. The 1st Indus Drama Awards ceremony, presented by Indus TV Network, sponsored by Dulux, took place on 23 September 2005, at PAF Museum, Karachi. The ceremony was recorded, and was scheduled to be televised in Pakistan and UAE on October 1, 2005, by Indus TV. It was produced by chairman Ghazanfar Ali. The awards were hosted by actor Shahood Alvi and co-hosted by Sehar Imran.
