Medicinernes Skiklub Svartor
Medicinernes Skiklub Svartor is one of Norway's oldest active skiing clubs, established by Bernhard Matheson, Brynjulf Stendahl, Carl Manthey and Ragnar Mørk in 1890 to "advance skiing and comradeship" among medical students in Oslo. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Ski Jumping
Ski jumping is a winter sport in which competitors aim to achieve the farthest jump after sliding down on their skis from a specially designed curved ramp. Along with jump length, competitor's aerial style and other factors also affect the final score. Ski jumping was first contested in Norway in the late 19th century, and later spread through Europe and North America in the early 20th century. Along with cross-country skiing, it constitutes the traditional group of Nordic skiing disciplines. The ski jumping venue, commonly referred to as a ''hill'', consists of the jumping ramp (''in-run''), take-off table, and a landing hill. Each jump is evaluated according to the distance traveled and the style performed. The distance score is related to the construction point (also known as the ''K-point''), which is a line drawn in the landing area and serves as a "target" for the competitors to reach. Einar Lindboe
Einar Fredrik Lindboe (2 June 1876 – 26 June 1953) was a Norwegian Nordic skier, skiing official and surgeon. He was born in Vestre Aker as a son of chief physician Axel Hagbarth Lindboe (1846–1911) and Jørgine Margarethe Hagerup Angell (1853–96), and a nephew of Jacob Lindboe. He grew up at Gaustad, where his father was the chief of Gaustad Asylum. In October 1904 in Kristiania he married Hildur Dorothea Schibsted (1879–1944), a daughter of Thrine and Amandus Schibsted. He was the maternal grandfather of Tinius Nagell-Erichsen. As an active Nordic combined skier, Lindboe's highest achievement was fifth place in the Holmenkollen ski festival of 1900. He was a member of SK Skuld, later Medicinernes SK Svartor. He became a board member of the Association for the Promotion of Skiing.
