Dave McSharry
Dave McSharry (born 10 July 1990 in Dublin, Ireland) is a former professional rugby union player from Ireland. He played primarily as a centre, usually at inside centre. McSharry played for Irish provincial team Connacht in the Pro12 before he was forced to retire in 2016. Connacht McSharry joined Connacht ahead of the 2011–12 season, having previously been in Leinster's Academy. McSharry made his debut for Connacht on 5 November 2011, starting against Ulster in the 2011–12 Pro12 and playing the full 80 minutes. McSharry made his European debut for the side with a start against Harlequins in the 2011–12 Heineken Cup on 11 November 2011, the province's first game in their first ever season in the competition. Carmel McSharry
Carmel Evelyn McSharry (18 August 1926 – 4 March 2018) was an Irish character actress, best known for her roles as Beryl Humphries in '' Beryl's Lot'' (1973–77), a daytime ITV serial, and as Mrs. Hollingbery in ''In Sickness and in Health''. She also played bit parts in ''The Day the Earth Caught Fire'' (1961), ''80,000 Suspects'' (1963) and ''The Leather Boys'' (1964). Other television work includes roles in ''The Liver Birds'', ''Casualty'' and ''Z-Cars''. She also appeared in the BBC play ''Home from Home'' in 1973, which also featured Yootha Joyce and Michael Robbins. Personal life Carmel McSharry's parents were Irish and were John McSharry and Christina Harvey. Her mother travelled back to Dublin for the birth of Carmel so that she should be born in the Irish Free State. McSharry married Derek Briggs in 1949. Andy "The Bull" McSharry
Andy "the Bull" McSharry is an Irish sheep farmer from County Sligo who came to national attention after a seventeen-year campaign during which he objected to casual walkers trespassing on his land, a dispute which inspired other farmers to object to similar treatment. The dispute began in 1992 and concluded in 2009. McSharry lives on a farm in Gleniff, near Ben Bulben in North County Sligo. He is married and has family. He is known for wearing an Indiana Jones-type broad-brimmed hat and he refers to himself as "the Bull", a reference to the character in John B. Keane's play '' The Field''. Fine Gael's spokesperson on Arts, Sports and Tourism Jimmy Deenihan once said of McSharry: “John B would have loved to have met you”. The farmer has often been seen driving around on an all-terrain vehicle to ensure his land is not invaded.
