Tegernseer Landstr
The Ducal Bavarian Brewery of Tegernsee (German ''Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee KG'') is a brewery in Tegernsee, Bavaria, Germany, located inside the north wing of former Tegernsee Abbey and owned by Maria Anna, Duchess in Bavaria, youngest daughter of Max, Duke in Bavaria. History The business traces its roots back to a brewery that was allegedly founded in the year 1050 at lake Tegernsee, where in 746 the Benedictine Tegernsee Abbey had been established. However, the documented history can only be traced back to 1675, when abbot Bernd Wenzel relocated the monastery's brewery all the way from Holzkirchen to Tegernsee. A Benedictine monastery did not invariably brew beer. In fact, in the days of the monastery, most monks in Bavaria favored wine over beer. Duke Maximilian I compiled a list of all Bavarian breweries in 1604, and Tegernsee was not mentioned. And if the monastery had already had a brewery, the relocation from Holzkirchen in 1675 would not have been ne ...

Brown House, Munich, Germany
The Brown House (german: Braunes Haus) was the name given to the Munich mansion located between the Karolinenplatz and Königsplatz, known before as the ''Palais Barlow'', which was purchased in 1930 for the Nazis. They converted the structure into the headquarters of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (''Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei''; NSDAP). Its name comes from early Nazi Party uniforms, which were brown. Many leading Nazis, including Adolf Hitler, maintained offices there throughout the party's existence. It was destroyed by Allied bombing raids during World War II. History In 1920, the Nazis opened their first party headquarters at the Sternacker Bräu in Munich. Between 1922 and the failed Beer Hall Putsch in November 1923, Adolf Hitler and the Nazis used a smaller structure at Corneliusstraße 12 for their meetings. For a time following the party's reorganization on 27 February 1925, they met at the Eher Verlag on Thierstraße 15, which eventua ...

Military Occupation
Military occupation, also known as belligerent occupation or simply occupation, is the effective military control by a ruling power over a territory that is outside of that power's sovereign territory.Eyāl Benveniśtî. The international law of occupation. Princeton University Press, 2004. , , p. 43 The territory is then known as the ''occupied'' territory and the ruling power the ''occupant''. Occupation is distinguished from annexation and colonialism by its intended temporary duration. While an occupant may set up a formal military government in the occupied territory to facilitate its administration, it is not a necessary precondition for occupation. The rules of occupation are delineated in various international agreements, primarily the Hague Convention of 1907, the Geneva Conventions of 1949, as well as established state practice. The relevant international conventions, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Commentaries, and other treaties by military scho ...

The ''Schutzstaffel'' (SS; also stylized as ''ᛋᛋ'' with Armanen runes; ; "Protection Squadron") was a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany, and later throughout German-occupied Europe during World War II. It began with a small guard unit known as the ''Saal-Schutz'' ("Hall Security") made up of party volunteers to provide security for party meetings in Munich. In 1925, Heinrich Himmler joined the unit, which had by then been reformed and given its final name.
