The Greens ( pl, Partia Zieloni, PZ) is a political party in Poland. It was formed in 2003 under the name "Greens 2004" and formally registered itself in February 2004. It supports principles of green politics, and it is positioned on the centre-left and leans towards the left-wing. The party is an international member of the Global Greens, European member of European Green Party and cooperates with the European Greens–European Free Alliance in the European Parliament. History The party was established in 2003 by activists of several social movements. Among its founding members there were environmentalists, feminists, LGBT people and anti-war activists. Civic Coalition (Poland)
The Civic Coalition ( pl, Koalicja Obywatelska, KO)) is a catch-all political alliance in Poland. The alliance was formed around Civic Platform in opposition to the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party. The coalition's name uses a play on words with ''Ja Obywatel'', which translates to "I, Citizen". History The Civic Coalition was originally created by the Civic Platform and Modern parties for 2018 local elections. In June 2019, it was announced that the Civic Coalition would be slated to participate in the 2019 Polish parliamentary election and Civic Platform and Modern will form a joint parliamentary club. The European Coalition ( pl, Koalicja Europejska, KE) was a short-lived political alliance and electoral list in Poland. It was established in 2019 by a group of former prime ministers and former foreign ministers, including Jerzy Buzek, Ewa Kopacz, Grzegorz Schetyna and Radosław Sikorski. Adam Ostolski
Adam Edward Ostolski (born 7 November 1978) is a Polish sociologist, columnist and activist. He is a member of the ''Krytyka Polityczna''. In 2013-2016 he was co-leader of the Poland's Green Party. He graduated from the Department of Philosophy and Sociology at the University of Warsaw. In 2011, he defended his doctoral dissertation ''Trauma and Public Memory: The Legacy of World War Two in Contemporary Poland''. He lectures at the University of Warsaw and at the Medical University of Warsaw. His research interests include social movements, gendered nationalism, memory studies and sociology of knowledge. He is author of a major study comparing antisemitic and anti-gay discourses in contemporary Poland. He translated into Polish books by Immanuel Wallerstein, Étienne Balibar, Shmuel Eisenstadt and Judith Butler. Ostolski was an environmental activist since the early 1990s. Bolesławiec (pronounced , szl, Bolesławiec, german: Bunzlau) is a historic city situated on the Bóbr River in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in western Poland.
