Adam Ostolski
Adam Edward Ostolski (born 7 November 1978) is a Polish sociologist, columnist and activist. He is a member of the ''Krytyka Polityczna''. In 2013-2016 he was co-leader of the Poland's Green Party. He graduated from the Department of Philosophy and Sociology at the University of Warsaw. In 2011, he defended his doctoral dissertation ''Trauma and Public Memory: The Legacy of World War Two in Contemporary Poland''. He lectures at the University of Warsaw and at the Medical University of Warsaw. His research interests include social movements, gendered nationalism, memory studies and sociology of knowledge. He is author of a major study comparing antisemitic and anti-gay discourses in contemporary Poland. He translated into Polish books by Immanuel Wallerstein, Étienne Balibar, Shmuel Eisenstadt and Judith Butler. Ostolski was an environmental activist since the early 1990s. Krytyka Polityczna
''Krytyka Polityczna'' (; "The Political Critique") is a circle of Polish left-wing intellectuals gathered around a journal of the same title founded by Sławomir Sierakowski in 2002 but is open to voices from across the political spectrum. The name draws on the tradition of Young Poland’s "Krytyka" (The Critique), a monthly magazine published by Wilhelm Feldman at the beginning of the 20th century, and on the samizdat "Krytyka" which served as a forum for opposition writers and journalists in the 1970s and 1980s. Stance The aim of Krytyka Polityczna is to revive the tradition of engaged Polish intelligentsia. ''Przekrój'' (; ''Cross-section'') was the oldest Polish weekly newsmagazine in operation, established in 1945 in Kraków. After temporary closure in 2013, it was bought by photographer Tomasz Niewiadomski and subsequently relaunched in December 2016 as a quarterly magazine. Przekrój's matchless literary style and lively visual charm were created due to the collaboration with the avant-garde of Polish intellectuals, writers, poets, artists and cartoonists. Przekrój was the birthplace of writers such as Wisława Szymborska, Stanisław Lem and Czesław Miłosz. Oliver Ressler (born 1970 in Knittelfeld in Austria) is an artist who lives and works in Vienna. He produces theme-specific exhibitions, projects in the public space and videos on issues such as global capitalism, forms of resistance, social alternatives, racism and global warming. His work constantly tries to blur boundaries between art and activism. Major works ''Alternative Economics, Alternative Societies'' is both an exhibit and a book.
