Mazahirul Uloom Saharanpur
Mazahir Uloom ( ur, ) is an Islamic seminary located in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Started in November 1866 by Sa'ādat Ali Faqīh, and developed further by Mazhar Nanautawi and Ahmad Ali Saharanpuri; it is regarded as the second most influential and major Deobandi seminary in India. The earliest graduates of the seminary include famous Hadīth scholar Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri. The seminary split in 1983 into Mazahir Uloom Jadeed and Mazahir Uloom Waqf Qadeem. The incumbent rectors are Muhammad Aaqil Saharanpuri and Muḥammad Saeedi respectively. History Mazāhir Uloom was established as "Mazhar Uloom"; on 9 November 1866, six months after the foundation of the Deoband seminary. Islamic University
The term "Islamic university" ( ar, الجامعة الإسلامية, ''Jami'ah Islamiyah''), sometimes called madrasah jāmiʿah ( ar, مدرسة جامعة), can be used to describe secular educational institutions that were founded by people of Islamic tradition as well as institutions that focus on teaching Islam as a main curriculum. The word "madrasah" can refer to an Islamic educational institution of any level, while the word ''jāmiʿah'' simply means "university." Ashraf Ali Thanwi
Ashraf Ali Thanwi (often referred as Hakim al-Ummat and Mujaddid e Millet; 19 September 1863 – 20 July 1943) was a late-nineteenth and twentieth-century Sunni Islam, Sunni scholar, jurist, thinker, Mujaddid, reformist and the revival of classical Sufism, sufi thought from Indian subcontinent during the British Raj, one of the chief proponent of Pakistan Movement. He was a central figure of Islamic Spirituality, spiritual, intellectual and religious life in South Asia and continues to be highly influential today. Saeed Ahmad Palanpuri
Saeed Ahmad Palanpuri (also written as Saʻīd Aḥmad Pālanpūrī) (1940 – 19 May 2020), was an Indian Sunni Muslim scholar and author who served as Shaykh al-Hadith and Principal of Darul Uloom Deoband. A number of his books are required readings in Darul Uloom Deoband. Biography Palanpuri was born in 1940 in Kaleda village, Vadgam then in the Palanpur State. He studied at the Mazahir Uloom and then attended the Darul Uloom Deoband, where he graduated in traditional dars-e-nizami studies. Palanpuri joined Jamia Ashrafiya in Rander as a teacher in 1965 and taught there for about ten years. He was appointed as a teacher of Darul Uloom Deoband in 1973 at the recommendation of Manzur Nu'mani. In 2008, he succeeded Naseer Ahmad Khan as Shaykh al-Hadith and also served as Principal. Abdur Rahman Ibn Yusuf Mangera
Abdur Rahman ibn Yusuf Mangera (born 1974) is a Sunni Islamic scholar, author, and founder of Whitethread Institute and Zamzam Academy. He authored ''Fiqh al-Imam'' and ''Healthy Muslim Marriage''. He featured in the 2020 edition of The 500 Most Influential Muslims compiled by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre. Salman Mazahiri
Salman Mazahiri (10 October 1946 – 20 July 2020) was an Indian Muslim scholar who served as chancellor of Mazahir Uloom Jadeed. Early life and education Mazahiri was born on 10 October 1946. Aged 15, he entered Mazahir Uloom, Saharanpur in 1962 (1381 AH) and graduated in 1386 AH. He studied ''Sahih Bukhari'' with Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhlawi, ''Sahih Muslim'', '' Sunan Nasai'', ''Tirmidhi'' with Munawwar Hussain, ''Sunan Abu Dawud'' with Muzaffar Hussain and ''Al-Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah'' with Muhammad Asadullah. Ghulam Mohammad Vastanvi
Ghulam Mohammad Vastanvi is an Indian Muslim scholar and former Vice-Chancellor of Darul Uloom Deoband. He was instrumental in reforming ''madrasa'' education by introducing subjects like medicine and engineering to Darul Uloom institutions. He was dismissed as the Vice Chancellor of Darul Uloom Deoband some said that it was because he praised modi but he denied it. Mahmood Hasan Gangohi
Mahmood Hasan Gangohi (1907–1996) was an Indian Mufti and Islamic scholar and former Grand Mufti of Darul Uloom Deoband and Mazahir Uloom, Saharanpur. He was the most senior disciple of Muhammad Zakariyya al-Kandhlawi. Among his notable disciples are Abul Qasim Nomani, Rahmatullah Mir Qasmi and Ebrahim Desai. Muḥammad In‘āmul-Ḥasan Kāndhlawī (20 February 191810 June 1995) was an Indian Islamic scholar who served as the Chief leader or Amir of the Tablighi Jamaat from 1965 to 1995. Early life and career Inamul Hasan was born on 20 February 1918 in Kandhla town, near Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Muḥammad Ilyās ibn Muḥammad Ismā‘īl Kāndhlawī Dihlawī (1885 – 13 July 1944) was an Indian Islamic scholar who founded the Tablighi Jamaat Islamic revivalist movement, in 1925, in Mewat province. Early life and education Muhammad Ilyas was born in 1303 AH (1885/1886) in the village of Kandhla, Muzaffarnagar district, North-West Provinces, British India (in present-day Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, India). His year of birth can be computed by the ''tarikhi'' (chronogrammatic) name "Akhtar Ilyas" () using abjad numerals.
